(Just letting you guys know that from this point on Amethyst will in first person. I am also in the works of rewriting the whole story or heavy editing and I'll be reposting it in about a month after its finished.)
"Get up, smelly!" Iris shouted from the hallway. I basically rolled out of bed with a groan, when my eyes adjusted I realized I had over slept; luckily it was the weekend.
It's been three days since the game, I have been avoiding Ryder again but this time I hadn't heard a word from him. I wasn't sure if I was happy to get a break or sad that he's been radio silent.
"Don't you look... Like you've been living under a bridge," Luna said with a repulsed expression as I took a seat at the table.
"Thanks," I grumbled. I mean sure I didn't wash up but it couldn't be that bad.
"Any plans for tonight?" Iris asked from the fridge, she was looking for her vanilla creamer.
"No," I grimace. I don't want to see my classmates until I have to. Since my last encounter with Ryder I've been especially anti-social.
"Good," responded Luna. She seemed catty and I wasn't use to her being snappy with me.
"What's wrong?" I asked as Iris sat beside me. She sipped at her caffeine and avoided my question.
"We have a lead to the wolf-problem," Luna explained. Something about the way she said it seemed dark.
"Wolf problem? Is that what we're calling it now?" I said with a little more additude than I was planning on. I guess maybe I've gotten a little attached to our 'wolf problem', that's not something I want them to know.
"Someone woke up on the wrong side of their cauldron," Iris said from behind her big mug.
I pushed the hair out of my face angrily, "Yeah, I did." It fell back down, blocking my vision. Yeah maybe a shower wasn't such a bad plan.
Luna shook her head, something about her stare said 'You're becoming a disappointment' and I just shifted in my seat.
"Amethyst, it's never not been a problem. Those creatures are killing innocent people! What's come over you lately?"
I took a sharp breath; she's right I've been extra grumpy for the last few days. "Sorry," I try to sound apologetic. "What's going on?"
"We've got a good lead," Luna began, her blue eyes narrowed on me and again I shifted in my chair. "We know who they are, we know what they want and we know how to kill them."
"Kill?" I didn't think we were going to kill them.
"Yes, Amethyst. We. Are. Going. To. Kill. Them. Tonight." I heard each word like a nails on a chalk board. I immediately realized that Ryder needs to know about this.
"Okay," I breathed. I didn't waste time before running upstairs to grab my cellphone. When I burst into my room to get my outdated smart phone, i found the future alpha of London himself, standing by my bed.
"Wha- Ryder what are you doing here?" He looked exhausted, his grey eyes were dark and sunken looking.
"I never slept," he replied not even budging.
"I need to talk to you," I sputtered. I didn't even realize Luna or Iris could barge in. I turn to the door, a snap of my fingers and it locks. before taking a seat on my bed I take another look at a very shaky looking Ryder.
"Me too," he said with a deep breath. "You first."
I eye him suspiciously, something is off here in more ways than one. "No, you."
