I left my wolf in the woods and made my way back to the manor. I braced myself for a fight and to run off with whatever small trinkets I needed from my bedroom.

I guess I would want my cell phone charger really..

My knuckles connected with the wooden door and I could hear the lock turn on the other side; it was Iris. Her green eyes narrowed on me, she just stepped aside and I walked in slowly.

"You belong to this moon you know." I hear a voice say from the library.

Belong to this moon? I've heard that in my nightmares... I move toward the dusty room, Iris just jogs up the steps ignoring me all together. I wince at the thought of her never talking to me again, of never seeing the closest thing I had to a sister

Luna stood on the old armchair in the library: the purple light from the moon shining in through the window beside her. It feels like the beginning to an eerie Halloween tv special.

I stand in the doorway, "What do you mean I belong to this moon?"

The house is so quiet I can actually hear my own heartbeat and it's very loud.

"This is an Amethyst moon, it happens once every five-hundred years," she gestures toward the window.

"There are dozens of decadents, but only one is ever born to harness the power.," Luna smiles a wicked smile that I'm sure I had never seen before.

I take another step into the library and she just stares out the open window.

"Your mother isn't a direct descendant of Alice Kyteler; which means that good old Maggie had been sleeping around."

I just gape at her, she doesn't sound like the same woman who raised me for the last seven years. Talking about my mother in such a light, all because of some stupid moon and some stupid witch... Oh.

The realization dawned on me, "She knew."

Luna nods, her eyes burning with something I couldn't decipher. "Yes, she knew and she was hiding it; from everyone!"

She rose from the armchair, pulling the old olive curtains open wider, "I couldn't understand why she was hiding it, I mean... She had already claimed a child out of wedlock, why not claim the true father?"

She had a crazy look in her blue eyes, as if I was watching her loose her mind and find it at the same time.

"It took a very long time to put together the pieces. Your mother is very clever. She knew exactly why she had to hide this," she paused, the room seemed to have gotten smaller and I began having a hard time breathing.

"Your father was an Outlaw," she whispered almost inaudible. An outlaw? I had a mental image of a man dressed in western clothing in a saloon.

"He was a western criminal?" I somehow managed not to laugh, but the comical moment was over the moment Luna glared at me.

"No!" She snaps. "Have you learned nothing about our kind?" Returning to her spot on the armchair, she crossed her legs and continued on.

"Alice Kyteler was the first witch. The very first to make what everyone called 'the deal with the devil.' You idiot little girl."

I think I remember something about her. Ehhh... No.

"She single handedly created every supernatural creature we have ever come across, they were like her experiments. She wanted ever lasting life and she found it."

"So she's alive?" I felt this a necessary thing to ask, since Luna's rambling seemed as if it was going no where.

"No, she was burned at the stake," she shrugged. "Four husbands dead and people start to talk."
