This is the final chapter of Vol. 1 thanks to everyone who read it. It's about to go through some major editing. I hope everyone enjoyed it and will want Vol. 2!!
I had been sitting on Lovers Rock for an hour, when I had finally given up hope. She wasn't coming, I only half expected her to. I stood up, brushing myself off, my disappointment is unbearable.
That's when I heard footsteps, I took a whiff of the air and smiled widely at her scent of lavender and vanilla I've come so familiar with.
Finally I saw her face through the clearing, she looks sad. Every part of me wants to run to her and make whatever was bothering her go away.
That's when i saw the blade in her hand, my eyes darted from her to the blade as she got closer. She stopped four feet away, her Violet eyes were dim as she spoke.
"My coven said..." She said shakily. "They said I am suppose to kill you, otherwise I am leaving London in jeopardy of innocent deaths... " her voice was empty, no emotion as she spoke. It looked as if she had been crying for hours. "I was trying to tell you earlier."
"You've come here to kill me?" I couldn't believe it. I had expected us to run off together, I was giving up everything to be with her.. And she's ready to slash my heart open.
She shook her head violently, her voice cracking, "No. I can't!" She fell to her knees as tears stained her porcelain skin. "I can't," she cried. "How could I harm you?"
She looks at the blade, shaking her head furiously. "I am in love with you, I've never felt this way before- to look at someone and feel like they're everything."
I ran over, dropping my knees into the grass and mud. I lifted her chin up, looking into her Violet eyes with mine, "Amethyst, you're the most hard headed, loud mouthed and rudest girl I have ever known. You are also the smartest, toughest and most beautiful creature I have ever laid eyes on. I can't live another day without having you in my life, I would rather live in exile with you, then live without you." I kissed her lips briefly, an urgency in my touch.
"If I don't do this, I'll become a monster- worst than we have ever seen." She was crying again, the tears flooding down her face. I tried wiping them away but it was a river, we were both broken in that moment.
"I am so sorry, but I have to do this."
I hadn't realized she was still grasping the blade, she lifted it above me and I jolted backwards. That's when I watched her; I watched as she plunged it into herself. She pulled it out of her stomach, throwing it aside before falling backwards onto the hard ground. "NO!" I shouted loudly.
It all happened in slow motion, I ran to her quickly, taking her in his arms. "No."
"No!"She looked at him and smiled. "I would rather not live, than live without you." Her white blouse had become soaked in blood, her eyes loosing all light in them. I was shaking, unsure what to do, I couldn't get her to a hospital by foot in time, in wolf form perhaps but I couldn't carry her.
"Damn it, Violet!" I shouted as her eyes closed slowly. That was the defining moment in my life, when I had to decide against what was right and what was wrong.
I knew there were some things that could not be forgiven, what I was about to do, was one of those things.
I felt the pain in my jaw as canine teeth grew out, the anger in my body was pulsating as I bit into her arm.
I felt the curse of my bloodline sink into her skin as I clasped my teeth around her arm.
I refused to loose her like this, I had never wanted to give her the affliction but I couldn't bare a day without her.
I knew how selfish I just acted.
I pulled away, watching as the bloody bite just leaked out more.
I had never bitten anyone before, not even sure I've done it properly.
"Amz," I whispered. I felt the sting as tears poured from my eyes onto her face. "Please Amz."
I scooped her up and ran. I kept running as fast as I could in human form. The wind began to dry my eyes out, but I didn't care. The hospital was a twenty minute drive from here, but I wasn't going to the hospital.
(James POV)
James was sitting in his study, he had just been through a great deal. His son had been working against his entire family, his daughter greatly injured in the fight and his eldest son had run off to be with a witch of all things.
So as he sat in his study, staring at the fire with a glass of brandy in his hand, he couldn't help but feel guilty.
"This is all your fault," he said to himself as the fire crackled in front of him. "You pushed Ryder away, you neglected Luke and now look at where you've landed." He took a sip of the liquor, swirling it around in his mouth before letting it burn his throat.
His father had never been close with him, but he taught him well. Taught him honor, manners and how to lead not only a pack, but all the packs of London.
The door to his study burst open, James quickly turned around to see Ryder standing in the doorway, a lifeless blonde in his arms. "Father," he said falling to his knees, his son began to cry silently over the body.
That's when James seen the blood on her blouse and the bite on her arm. He gasped, "Ryder, What have you done?" Walking over and examining the bite, it was fresh couldn't be more than an hour old.
"You've bitten her; she's in transition." He looked at the blood on his son, taking a deep breath and realizing it's just the girl's blood.
"What.. You mean it's worked?" Ryder asked a small hope in his tone, his grey eyes had been dark until that moment. he slowly lifted her blood stained blouse up to reveal smooth skin, no wound just blood stained skin.
James looked at his son confused, unsure what exactly had happened that would make his son bite the woman he said he loved so much.
"It's worked, If your plan was to give this witch the affliction." His father looked down at him disappointedly, he had made it clear to his children that killing and biting anyone was forbidden.
"But why is the bite not healing?" Ryder looked at it closer, it has stopped bleeding but the indentation remained etched in her perfect skin.
"That is the mark, son." James explained. "Any injury she occurs after this, shall heal but this one," he pointed at the teeth marks, "This one is there forever."
She shifted, starting to wake up. When her eyes fluttered opened James was shocked from what he saw.
"A-Amzy?"
