You and Damon have been dating since his humanity turned off recently. You were the one who got his emotions back on. And he was grateful to you ever since.
It had been 5 years now and you were worried. You thought he didn't want to commit to you. Whenever the topic of the future comes up he changes the topic quickly. And you want to know why.
"Hey babe." Damon said as you walked into the living room.
"Hi." You replied coldly.
"Oh no, princess. Why are you angry?" He asked making you melt. He knew all the pet names that made you squirm.
"Ahem, we need to talk Damon." You sighed as he frowned.
"That's not a good sign." He mumbled as he sat next to you and waited for you to begin speaking.
"Damon, why haven't we taken bigger steps in our relationship?" You asked as he sighed.
"Y/n.." He sighed.
"No, I need a straight answer." You exclaimed unhappily.
"Y/n, you're a human! I'm a vampire! I know what you want out of life but I can't give that to you." He sighed in frustration.
"What? Kids? We can adopt kids Damon! That's not the problem. There are things we can do that we don't have to be human for." You replied with a shrug.
"Like getting married." He smirked.
"Yes." You replied.
"You know, I kind of wanted to do this over dinner. But I knew how impatient my princess is," he trailed as your stomach fluttered.
"-so now will have to do." He finished as he stood in front of you and kneeled.
"Y/f/n y/l/n, will you give me the absolute honor in being my wife? Will you marry me?" He asked as he opened a box that held a big, beautiful, diamond ring!
"Oh my god, Damon!" You gasped.
"I've been saving it for a while now, choosing the right moment. Now's as good time as any." He smiled as you smiled back.
"Yes Damon. I will marry you!" You exclaimed as you pressed your lips to his. He slipped the ring into your finger as you giggled with delight.
"Wow. I'm going to be Y/n Salvatore." You whispered to yourself. Damon, of course heard you and smiled.
