You and Elena had been married for almost two years now. And every time you saw a woman or a man with a baby in a stroller you smiled and longed for one of your own. As did Elena, but she wasn't sure if you were ready.
"Babe?" She asked from across the table, on which you two were having dinner. "Yes?" You replied.
"I have to ask you something, but you have to promise to keep an open mind." She warned as you smiled.
"I promise." You said.
"I want to adopt a baby." She said quickly, as you simply stared at her in awe. She knew what you wanted even if you didn't say so.
"That sounds like a fantastic idea!" You finally said, making her smile in relief. "I've been thinking about it for a while but I wasn't sure if you were ready." She added as you giggled.
"That's the same reason I never brought it up." You giggled as she walked over and sat on your lap.
"I love you." She said as she smiled.
"I love you too." You replied as you pecked her lips.
"Boy or girl?" You asked her, curiously.
"I've always wanted a boy first." She sighed happily.
"Me too." You smiled as you went in for another kiss.
