Imagine: you are hearing impaired and the Mikaelsons become your new family.
Second person pov:
They had taken you in. The Mikaelsons had found you one day on the streets and gave you a home.
"Klaus!" Rebekah shoved her brother playfully as they both let out a giggle.
It was mid-December and freezing. As they spoke, little puffs of cold, white air left their lips.
And as they walked their eyes landed on you. Your small frame bore an old sweater your mother had given you before she abandoned you with nothing to your name.
At the time, you were no more than 8. You had gloves on, but we're still rubbing your hands together for warmth.
"Hello, love." Klaus spoke to you but you simply furrowed your eyebrows and looked towards his lips as he spoke.
"I'm Klaus and this is Rebekah." He and Rebekah noticed you were reading his lips rather than looking at him.
"Oh." He whispered before he started all over again and tried signing to see if you understood. You smiled a bit and signed back, since signing was the form of communication you used.
It's been years since that day, you were all grown up. And you were now celebrating your 17th birthday.
Klaus entered the room with all of his siblings, gifts in hand, and they all smiled at you before enveloping you in a hug.
When you broke apart they all signed: "Happy birthday, Y/n."
You smiled wide at them and felt tears prick your eyes.
"I love you." You signed to them as they all grinned at you.
"We love you too, Y/n." They all signed back before they attacked you with the gifts they bought you, eager for you to open them.
You used to be insecure that you weren't like the other kids. But they made you feel happy. They showed you that being normal is overrated. And that was the first time in your life where you felt you had a home.
