There was a comment that called this work 'one of a kind' in the previous chapter. I appreciate that a lot, it really means so much to me.

But that also got me wondering: "What makes FIANV stands out from the rest?"

Let me know your answers in the comment.

Also, like the previous most recent chp's of this arc, things will get rushed (despite me taking months to do this one).

"Ooh, I'm cranking it hard! I'm cranking hard!"

"Dude..."

At the second line of territory within FDF control in Eastern part of the island closer to the center, an artillery howitzer is set up in a clear, flat field devoid of any urban environment, not even a single desolate house is in sight around them.

"Did you really have to make it weird?"

With the howitzer's legs spread out and dug into the ground, the gun barrel slowly rises to a specific angle by a crank.

"Ah, you know, just having fun and shit"

"I'm all for fun, but this ain't it man"

"Rich coming from someone who flirted with them bear girls, heh heh"

Meanwhile at the truck that pulled the piece all the way here, a soldier from the Royal Berian Army would carry a crate of 155mm shells each on both hands. All that without breaking a sweat despite his average-looking physique.

"Come on, man, you know that wasn't what I meant! I was just talking normally to locals you know"

"Yeah sure, talking like you desperately need a good time with the polar bear- Oh, you can put them down there..." the artilleryman points down onto the ground several steps away from the gun, then he looks back with a smug "...Totally normally indeed"

"Ah, fuck you dude..." the other man dismissively waved his hand as he walked to the Berian who was gently putting down the crates. As the bear then leaves for the truck again, he was later joined by another artilleryman who was carrying a bunch of fuses.

The straps were taken off and the wooden panel was lifted and thrown out for the men to finally access the shells... without its intimidating point that is, having been transported with the eyebolt plug screwed onto the front both for safety and ease of transportations. Not a problem though as they just screw the eyebolt out and screw the fuse in its place.

"Felix! Get the charges!"

For the next part, a shell is placed in a tubular device, the purpose of which will be made clear later. With the help of the same guy who bickered with earlier, they carried it over to the gun, then lifted it up and aligned the tube to the breech block. A little twist clockwise locks the device in place, and a pull to a lever sends the rammer integrated in the breech housing forward with a positive ping in the end. Lastly, with the loading device twisted counter-clockwise and brought out of the way of the breech, a bag of explosive charge is shoved all the way in, and a pull of another lever gets the breech block to slide back in. A blank is inserted into the breech block to complete the process.

The firing solution was verified, the lanyard was attached, and the crew ran to the back with only the shooter staying by the side of the gun. Now, they wait for the signal...

"...Fire!"

"FIRE!"
