CHAPTER SEVEN
And the story begins
....................
I stretched across my bed staring up at my colorful paint splattered ceiling. This had been a very eventful day.
Within 24 hours I had managed to half my training time from two weeks ago, From 20 seconds to 10, I found out when I show a lot of emotion my eyes will change colors. When I'm angry they are blue, sad grey, happy violet, and threatened or aggressive they turn yellow with a hint of orange and red.
Oh and did I mention I'm am a DOG?!
How could this be possible? I mean werewolves are myths. I'm HUMAN. I can't be a mythical creature.
But I am. I saw it my self. My eyes changing colors.
Two parts of me fought against each other.
Part of me was terrified that I would be some horrible creature and the other was wanting to test my paws, to see how life as wolf would be like.
Its terrifying and also exciting at the same time.
I've had all that training so my grandfather said I was strong enough to handle the change. After he explained everything all the pieces of my life kinda fell together.
I am fast because I'm a wolf.
I am strong because I am a wolf
My grandfather had suspicions that I was a wolf like him so he created the obstacle course to test my abilities. His suspensions happened to be right.
I sighed getting off the bed. I had to get ready for my yearly summer camping trip.
I had already packed up all my camping gear.
My tent, sleeping bag and hunting knives were all packed and with my backpack.
I grabbed my cantine out of my closet, and ran down the stairs to the kitchen.
My step mom was doing dishes.
Hey Kiri.
Hi. I said back, opening the fridge and pulled out a pitcher of ice cold water.
I twisted the cap off of the cantine and I filled the cantine with the water from the pitcher.
So who's going on the camping trip this year. Ahe asked not turning away from the sink.
Chloe, Aria, Angel, Nadia, Allen, Jasmine, Jonathan, Madison, Brice, Evelin, Kale and me of course.
I chuckled.
Ok hun yalk have fun.
I will I said as I ran up stairs to grab my stuff, Aria would be here to pick me up soon.
I grabbed my backpack off the floor and pulled it on my back, the large two room tent strapped across the back.
I could hear rhe dogs barking outside.
Aria must be here already. I hurriedly grabbed my sleeping bag and rushed down the stairs.
"Oh Kiri," my step mom stopped me in the hall. "I got you some stuff for your trip." She tossed me a small brown paper bag. "Have fun now" she called after me as I opened the door and rushed out into the yard
Aria's truck was parked in the drive way and she casually leaned across the passenger door of her jacked up F250.
"Come on girly." she ushered me into the truck opening the door and taking my bags from me. She tossed my stuff in the bed of her truck, climbing in after to strap everything in so they wouldn't get damaged.
She already had a cooler packed along with her tent, sleeping bag and clothes.
I shut the passenger door behind me as she jumped out of the bed and climbed into the drivers seat. My dad was waiting at the gate to let us out of the yard and to keep the dogs from escaping into the buisy highway.
