Chapter Eight

We arived at Chloe's house five minutes later. We would have gotten here in about four minutes from now if Aria actually paid attention to speed limits, but to here they are only suggestions on how fast you COULD drive.

Chloe was already waiting for us as we pulled into here peaceful little neighborhood. She was standing outside her house by the road. She was irritated I could tell, probably had another argument with her mom.

My suspensions proved correct as she climbed into the backseat of Aria's truck tossing her bags beside her complaining about her mother.

"Ugh. I can't believe her. She is becoming so impossible to live with. And it's like she goes out of her way to find any little thing to fight about. " she vented.

Aria started the truck back up and sped off down the road. " Is your dad working the long night shifts again?" She asked Chloe not talking her eyes off the road.

"Yea." Chloe mumbled. "He spends all of his time at the station, and he is hardly ever home."

"Well there you have it." I reassured her. "You aren't the reason she is unhappy. You dad is a workaholic and he isn't around to argue with her so she uses you as an excuse to get rid of her anger and frustration."

"Yea, I know." Chloe whined playing with her fingernails. "I was surprised she let me leave the house."

Aria slammed on the brakes. "Why?" she asked turning around to face Chloe "What did you do?"

"What?" Chloe asked innocently.

We just glared at her.

"Well, I kinda said something about my dad." She whispered

"And..." Aria snapped

"I said dad probably stayed with his girlfriend because he is tired of the third degree he gets from her ever time he comes home." She stared down at her feet.

"Chloe!" I growled

"Wow. Your dad has a girlfriend?" Aria asked confused

"No." Chloe chuckled "but mom doesn't know that."

We all laughed at that.

"That's horrible Clo." Aria said trying to sound serious but failing.

Aria pulled the truck back onto the road.

"I kno." Chloe chuckled "it just came out. I couldn't help it."

20 minutes later we arived at Gold Head State Park. After we had picked up Chloe we stopped to pick up her boyfriend Jonathan, our emo friend Jasmine and her nonexclusive boyfriend Kale.

We pulled into the park entrance and stopped at the little ranger booth at the entrance. We each handed Aria 5 dollars and she paid our entrance and camping fees. The ranger handed us a little ticket that Aria placed in the windshield. We drove fast and parked in the closest parkind lot to our campsite.

Nadia and Allen were already there along with Brice and Stella. The only ones we were waiting on now was Evalin my half sister and Madison, Aria's newest fling.

As soon As the truck was parked I flung open the door and jumped down from the very tall truck. Chloe was right behind me, hand in hand with Jonathan.

I walled around to the back of the truck and effortlessly climbed into the bed untying the staps that kept everything tied town.

"JONATHAN!" I head Aria shout seriously

"Um, yea." He stuttered.

I pulled the ropes off Aria's coller and pulled it loose.

"If you ever. And I mean EVER, hurt my girl Cloe I WILL make your life a living nightmare."

I chuckled at her threat as I pulled the bed open and slid out the cooler placing it on the asphalt parking lot.

"Aria be nice." I laughed "you are terrifying the poor boy."

Jonathan just stood there in the grass by the parking lot clutching Chloe's arm looking terribly confused.

"Brice." I called to Stella's huge muscular boyfriend. He was tall about six foot tall but wide, and extremely buff, liked he spent all of his free time at the gym.

He ran over to where I stood unloading the truck, leaving Stella talking to Aria and Nadia.

"What can I help you with little lady?" He asked in a mock British accent and bowing sloppily.

I chuckled "well sir. Aren't you the gentleman."

"Yes ma'Lady." He smiled

Can you take this cooler to one the picnic tables over there?" I asked pointing to a few picnic tables in the shade under some trees a few feet away.

"No problem." He bowed again before picking up the cooler and walking away. I laughed as I watched him Leave.

I climbed back in the bed and grabbed my bags and the tents. As I was climbing back down I saw Evalins small black BMW park beside the truck. She reached into the back of her car to grab her bags before climbing out locking her doors behind her.

"Hey Ev" I called as I pulled my bag across my back and picked up the tent and sleeping bag off the back of the truck.

"Hey Kiri!" She shouted excitedly "is everyone here?"

"They are now." Aria called as Madison pulled up in his shiny red Firebird.

We grabbed the rest of the stuff and sat them on the picnic tables as Allen and Nadia went to pick up two of the all terrain golf carts. They are called Gators but they still look like sporty golf carts.

When they came back with them we loaded both with all of our stuff climbed in them, and rode down to our campsite.
