"Come on Babe, I think you need to sleep" Ryan whispers against my temple.
"I can't" I sniff, my eyes burning with unwanted tears "I have to go to the house" I stand up, walking to the door "Please come with me"
"Of course" He nods, walking with me to the car. The drive to the beach house is silent, neither one of us knowing what to say, my heart feels heavy in my chest as we pull into the driveway. I get out, Ryan following behind me and we walk straight to my mom and dad's room. I look in the closet for the book he told me about.
"Shadow" I read out loud, I flip through the pages seeing it's a journal of some sort.

My eyes scan over, and I flip through to the last entry.

She's gone, my beautiful Noah is gone, the woman who didn't even know who I was at the beginning, is gone forever. I wish she wouldn't of gone this way, I wish she wouldn't have gone at all. I fought so had for her, and I wouldn't trade my fight for anything in the world. She was the most amazing this that had ever happened to me, and in return we had the most beautiful daughter. Avalina Dylan, my baby girl, my Princess, she's grown up so much and she reminds me of Noah everyday, I wish someone would fight for her, as hard as I fought for Noah, and I hope that she finds someone that deserves every ounce of her attention
I came out of the shadow, and into the daylight

"What's that?" Ryan asks, his hand resting on my waist as he looks over my shoulder.
"The story of my mom and dad" I, for the first time in days, smile.
"Who wrote it?"
"My dad" I flip back to the first day "Look, it was written from when he was on high school, wow" I gush "My dad loved my mom way before she even know him"
"That's amazing" Ryan whispers "We can have a story like that"
"What?"
"Yeah, we have the first half down, let's start the second" He gets down on one knee.
"Oh my god Ryan" I gasp.
