Scarlett's POV
"What do you want?" I said again with full certainty and, because I want to really hear it from Natalia, no miscommunication, no interruptions, no annoying needing to go in a hurry type of situation which from the music from the lobby of the hotel, meant they were hoping to prepare and ready for it to start.
"What do you want, Natalia?"
"You don't understand..." There she goes again, trying to protect and save me but I won't her, she doesn't get to do this and expect I'm going to forget about it. "Hey, please just tell me what you want? From all of this, I understand there's a lot at risk here but that can be handled, so please, please just tell me what you want."
Her brown eyes, no, dark brown eyes that are mocha brown that I am in love with, like drinking hot cocoa during the rain and being cozy in a couch with a blanket and just enjoying the warmth. "What I want is to just not... I don't know! I know, I get it, I know you and the others would handle everything but that's just not simple and I can't let you do it, I'm doing this to... Damn it! I can't."
I squeezed her hands and reminded her to breath, there's so much I want to say to her, and considering how little time we have, I'm doing this now.
"You may think you don't deserve happiness and everything in your life is full of shit..."
She got annoyed and rolled her eyes, "Wow, thanks." There she is, that cute annoying expression and how she is with me.
"I know but listen, I get it, things are not going to be easy if you leave here with me but I don't give a shit, I love you! It happened that night, and I know it took me this damn long to realized it because of the contract, what we agreed on..."
It's exactly what we agreed on.
No feelings.
No romance between us.
Just the BDSM relationship that's just for fun and exploring without getting too complicated.
Yet it did get complicated and that was the absolute problem.
I let her go.
We let each other go.
And it was all at first the right thing yet it wasn't and now we're standing in this elevator, while dozens of guests are arriving and possibly waiting for this bride to be married and for them...
A happy ever after.
"Being friends with you and the contract along with it, getting to know each other, I never felt this comfortable nor easy with any of my subs, it was what we agreed on. No romantic feelings attached or things will get messy or complicated and serious trouble with the stalking and everything but this, us, it became real than we lead on. And I know I'm being selfish and messy in trying to get you to leave here and forget about this wedding that clearly you're not ready for nor even want it due to what it would mean. You're the most incredible, thoughtful, selfless, strongest and perfect woman I ever met. After everything we have been through, what we learned about each other and how we work, once leaving here either with me or down at the aisle, it'll take a long time to even truly build something between us. I rather have that, I rather have spent more months or possibly years to connect, a relationship? It's been years since I've been in a relationship that lasted for a long time and Delilah definitely didn't count since it wasn't real or true, we can take our time and really learn. I want to be the person you can rely and feel safe with, someone who would treat you like the queen as you are."
"Scarlett..." Natalia tried to speak but I wouldn't let her, I have to say all of this before I can't no more.
"You're the best thing that ever happened and I can't lose you! Not again! I already have Rio have someone do something and it'll be okay, you don't have to be with Patrick, do this for me, you left the first time because you knew it was the strongest thing you ever done and knew you had to get out of there."
"That's the thing, I didn't have a plan or knew what I was going to do after that!"
Natalia's POV
That's the truth, I really didn't have a plan once I found Patrick with Tishana. I just left my ring on the table and left, but I really didn't know what the plan was, I left to drink my sorrows, left the wedding that was so damn close, to the uncertainty. I spent so long on my own and not having a full plan, meeting Scarlett and the others, having this contract between us. Forming a friendship, having the best time of my life with this whole new other world that I got to experience. Not playing it safe like I always have with my life.
I got to experience a lot, I grew to be the person that I am today, I learned to be confident. What I have never been before after spending so much time with Scarlett, Lilith and Racheal and Rio. Knowing now what Scarlett knows, and what she and Rio planned, her here. In this incredible dress, so perfect that it brings out everything about her.
The confidence, boldness, the boss that she is and knows it. She's here, not caring what others think and is willing to take me away from this damn wedding knowing it was the most dramatic way ever.
And I hoped for it.
Something to happen for me not to go through with this.
But knew it wouldn't happen, nothing like this happens.
But Scarlett surprised me, "That moment at the bar, meeting you, drinking with you, that first night with you, I wanted so much to forget about you and figure things out on my own but meeting you again, showing Jasper's house and you just happened to be there, I didn't think you'll be someone important to my life. But you did. You became this person who changed my life and showed me so much!"
