White Cap Bay

Rebecka's POV

"Dad, I have something to tell you. A few somethings" I tell him. We're in my room as we sail to White Cap Bay. He'd just been talking to Angelica, or should I say seducing her.

"We can catch up later" he tells me. "We should focus on escaping" he states. "Now I have a plan, well the start of one" he admits.

"Ok, what is it?" I ask him.

"I have a way to get you out, then I'll meet up with you later" he states.

"You want us to split up?" I ask him.

"Yes, now while they are all distracted by the mermaids. You're to run" he tells me.

"Dad, I'm not a little girl anymore. I can fight" I tell him.

"I know, but I can't focus on an escape plan for me if I am worrying about you. Now when you escape, head for protected cove" he tells me. "I'll meet you there" he assures me.

"White cap bay!" we hear someone shout. Dad kisses my forehead. Assuring me everything will be alright and leaves. I sigh and take out two photos. One of a man and woman and another of a little girl. How am I supposed to tell my dad I am married and have a daughter? That I maybe pregnant again. He can barely cope with the fact that I am not a little girl anymore. I sigh and put them away. Before going to the deck and help prepare the long boats. 

Most of the crew goes ashore. Including dad and I. Blackbeard wants to keep an eye on us. Though it'd be smarter to keep us apart. We would both be easier to control. "Lay 'em out flat!
No tangles. Make 'em look pretty for our dainty guests" Blackbeard orders as the crew lay out nets in the shallows.

"We're gonna need light. A lot of light" he states looking up at the light house. He looks at dad, Angelica and I. Telling us to come. We follow him to the light house and climb the stairs. Entering the room at the top.

"What's that smell?" I ask covering my nose.

"Whale oil. Stuff burns like a miracle from God" on of Blackedbeard's crew explains. I head over to the window for some fresh air and take some deep breaths. The smell is horrible and I grew up around pirates.

"Can you make it work?" Blackbeard asks him.

"Made by the English. Let's not get our hopes up" the crew member tells him. Dad comes over to be and places a hand on my shoulder. Looking worried. I nod, assuring him that I am ok. Angelica walks over to us looking up at the moon.

"The old moon in the arms of the new one. First of the summer. Perfect for hunting a mermaid's tear" she states smiling wickedly. The crew member gets the light working and shines it on a long boat on the water below. We then head back to the shore.

"Remember the plan" dad whispers into my ear. Before going to stand with Angelica and Blackbeard. As we wait for the mermaids to appear. They are drawn to man made light. I stay towards the back of the group on shore. Still in sight of Blackbeard and Angelica. And in reach of one of his zombiefied crew members. Who would no doubt stop me from running until the mermaids arrived. That is when I can run and head for protective cove, everyone will be distracted. I hate to leave my dad, but I know he has a plan to get himself out.

I don't know how long we waited there. The men in the boat were singing, My Jolly Sailor Bond. But I soon saw movement in the water by the boat. As something surfaced and the men stoped singing. "My heart is pierced by Cupid, I disdain all glittering gold. There is nothing can console me But my jolly sailor bold" a beautiful female voice starts to sing. More mermaids surface and start to surround the boat as she continues to sing.

"Come all ye pretty fair maids Whoever you may be Who love a jolly sailor bold That ploughs the raging sea My heart is pierced by Cupid I disdain all glittering gold There is nothing can console me But my jolly sailor bold My heart is pierced by Cupid I disdain all glittering gold There is nothing can console me But my jolly sailor bold" she sings. But then all hell breaks loose as the mermaids attack and the crew members defend themselves.

The mermaids launch themselves out of the water. Grabbing a crew member and taking them under the surface. "Out upon it! It has begun!" Blackbeard shouts as he walks onto the dock holding a torch. Dad and Angelica following him. It's nearly time for me to move.

Just then crew members on other long boats drop bombs into the water. Driving them to the surface. Where the Queen's Anne Revenge shot fire at them. Driving them to shore, towards the nets. Then everything goes quiet for a second. When suddenly lassos of seaweed shot out of the water and grabbed people from the shallows. Dragging them into deeper water.

"Retreat, all, to land! For your lives! Retreat, I say!" Dad shouts.

"Cowards! Back in the water! There be no refuge on land! On my word!" Blackbeard orders and shoots someone. His zomebified members do the same. Dad looked at me once and I ran for it. Into the forest away from the battle, praying that my dad would be ok.

I can still hear the screams and gun fire. As I ran deeper into the forest. I soon heard and explosion and stop. To see the light house had blown up and a lone figure diving into the water. "Dad" I whisper. I wanted to go back. But I promised him I'd run and meet him at protected cove. I just have to pray he makes it there safely and isn't punished to badly for my escape.
