Chapter Nineteen

It had been three months since Sammi was killed and although every time I thought about her it was painful, I had to admit, it was getting easier, which also made me feel even guiltier. I felt like I shouldn't be doing anything except mourn her. But the more rational part of me knew that I had to keep going forward like I was now.

At least twice a week I went out to work with my dad and his workers which was good and at the weekend I worked at a nightclub in the city called The Orange Club. It wasn't as popular as the one that I used to work at in Manchester, but then Leeds didn't have two huge football clubs, all it had was Leeds United and even though I love to see Leeds be successful, it wasn't that much plus I was Manchester United through and through.

It was a Saturday afternoon and I was laying on the sofa just relaxing when my phone started to vibrate on the coffee table. I looked at the Caller ID and frowned when it read Jimmy. I hadn't heard of him since the funeral, and I hardly saw him then. Why's he ringing me now?

On the fourth ring I answered the phone. "Jimmy?"

"Kyle!" He yelled through the phone sounding relieved. "I have some news."

I frowned, what news could he have? "Okay...like what?" I replied curiously.

He paused for a few seconds and was about to ask if he was still there when he spoke up again. "They've found Sammi's killer."

My mind blanked and my mouth fell open, not sure what to think. I knew they were looking for the fucker, but I thought they would just give up like the press have. I mean, after a week or so, they stopped surrounding the house and following my family and Sammi's family around. But I was so thankful. My God I was. "Good." I told him. "Where is he now?"

"He's in a jail over here." He informed me. "I don't know-" He started but I cut hims off.

"-I'm getting the first plane over there." I told him, not letting him finish his thought. I needed to see the guy that ripped the love of my life away from me for no reason. I needed him to realise the pain he's caused so many people just so he could gain a few euro's in his back pocket.

"Err...Kyle, I don't think you can." He responded carefully and I had to resist the laugh. I mean, my fiance was shot and he believes I won't go over there to see him? I bet her parents were going as they were paying for the detectives, but you know how Spain deals with foreigners - not very well.

"Jimmy, I'm coming. I'll be there in a few days." I let him know before hanging up.

I went down the contacts in my phone and found Ben's name. I hadn't talked to him since the funeral as well, but I was just trying to forget them all, First Choice, her family, our friends - everything and now it seems like I'll have to dig it all up again.

He answered almost straight away, "Kyle?"

"Hey man, have you heard the news?" I asked him.

      "Yeah."

"Do you know what he's called?" I wondered.

"Emilio Hernandez." He told me with an underlying menace in his voice. He obviously felt as much hatred towards the git as what I did. Which was good as it meant that when I saw him, he wouldn't try and be the 'reasonable' gut by trying to stop me from hitting him - if I ever got the chance.

"Anyway we're all going over tomorrow, why, are you coming?" He questioned.

"Think so yeah, I want to see this prick face to face." I replied.

"Good. I'll e-mail you the details to our flight so you can try and get a flight with us." He told me. "See you tomorrow hopefully." He ended before hanging up. I smiled slightly, at least Ben still has my back.

I grabbed the laptop from off the cupboard and started to arrange everything.

A few hours later, I had managed to get a seat on the same flight as Sammi's family and booked a two night stay in the same hotel as them.

Jess came in just as I closed the lid of the laptop. "What you up to?" She asked as she sat across me.

"They've found Sammi's killer so I'm going back to Spain with her family so I can see him face to face." I informed her and she smiled.

"I'm so glad they've found him, you might be able to get a little bit closure now." She spoke up. "Oh and you need to apologise to Kelsey still."

I frowned. "Why do I need to apologise to her? It was a couple of months ago and what I said wasn't even that harsh." I questioned. I know I haven't seen her since, but I didn't even know I said anything to really hurt her...

"Yes you do Kyle! She hasn't been near here since and she used to practically live here!" She shouted. "I don't care about your history, she's my best friend!"

I looked at her stunned, not sure on what to say. I always forgot they were also best friends. "Okay, I'll apologise, just get her to come round here and I will, but make it be today and before eight o'clock as I'm working."

   She grinned, "thanks."

"No problem." I smiled back. I loved Jess so much and I knew I had to rectify our friendship just for her. It wasn't fair on her at all, making her have to choose between us and everything, even I knew that best friends were everything to a girl. Sammi was always on the phone to Alana and Ashleigh when she had the chance, catching up on pointless crap that she found entertaining and important.

God I missed her voice so much.

I smiled at Jess before getting up and going into the kitchen to make something to eat as I was starving.

Hey! (:

So they found her killer! The next chapter is going to be them going to Spain! Sorry if there's a lot of dialogue in this as well!
