Epilogue

5 years later

"Da-da." Our one year old daughter cooed as she toddled over to me, resembling some one who had been on a weekend bender.

I swung her up into my arms and started to tickle her stomach as she tried to swat my hand away. Her giggle was the best sound I had ever heard and I knew that I could never get enough of it. I had always cursed parents who put obscene amounts of photos of their kids on Facebook but since Kelsey and I had her last October, I honestly couldn't help it.

I have about twenty video's of her laughing on my phone alone.

"Come to mummy." Kelsey stepped in and took her out of my arms. "We need to save you from daddy." She laughed.

I fake gasped in horror and started to chase after them. It lead out to the back yard and with it being near Christmas, the snow was coming down pretty hard. I took Isla back out of her hands, grabbed a handful of snow and threw it at her before sprinting back inside and taking cover. She would never bring snow into the house.

"I'm soaking wet through now!" She whined as she came back into the living room but before I could say anything else, my brother and the rest of the family came stomping through the front door.

"That's what she said." My brother winked and I laughed with him where Kelsey just scowled.

"You're lucky you have our daughter in your hands right now, because when she's asleep your dead."

"Ooh, kinky." Josh spoke up again and his current girlfriend Amelia just smacked him around the head which made me laugh.

"I can tell who wears the trousers in that relationship." I quipped and he just scowled at me as they all sat down on the sofa and chairs.

Since we started dating again, Kelsey and I had been going from strength to strength. I had never been happier. On the night I asked her to marry me, which was on Valentine's Day last year (cliche I know) she told me she was pregnant with Isla. She was born a month early and it was a little touch and go but she pulled through because she's a little trooper and now we have our own little family and another one along the way.

We were meant to get married this December, but when she got pregnant again, we've post-poned it to next year - a Summer wedding. The baby should be here by March and we have our eyes on August.

It was surreal, but when we found out we were having a girl, I asked if Kelsey would be okay is the name Samantha was in her name and she agreed, so she's called Isla Samantha Harper.

Even though it's been six years ago and I am as happy as I'll ever be with Kelsey, I sometimes find myself thinking about Sammi, but I just remember the good times now. I mean, I'm nearly thirty years old - only two years now and I hate it. Kelsey who's only twenty-six, likes to remind me all the time.

"Now let me give my grandchild a hug." My mother pushed through the hoardes of people and picked her out of my hands and then proceeded to give her a a piece of chocolate.

"Mum, she's about to have her tea." I whined.

"She'll eat that as well, trust me."

"I know, but whenever she has chocolate, she has these really disgusting poo's."

"Christ Kyle, I've had four of them, I'll change her. Stop your whining and go and get me a glass of wine." She waved off and I just rolled my eyes but did as she said.

"Uncle Kyle, has Aunt Kelsey made some chocolate cake again?" Ben asked as he came into kitchen with me and I nodded my head.

"She has, but it's for after tea." I commented.

"Oh okay, it best come quick." He spoke before running back into the living room.

He turned ten in August and I still found it maddening. Claudia and her new husband Tom had two kids together: Olivia and Ryan who were four years and two years old. Danielle was pregnant with her first child with Ethan and Josh hadn't even thought about kids yet. Christ, he had only been dating Amelia for about two weeks and the chances of her being around long are nil.

He's what I would have been like if I didn't choose Kelsey, except he's a year younger.

Kelsey came back down stairs with a light blue jumper and grey jogging pants on and I gave her a kiss on the lips as I poured my mum and Amelia a glass of wine and grabbed three cans out of the fridge. "You okay babe?"

She nodded her head, "Yeah, the little one's kicking again." She laughed as she placed her hands over her stomach. I placed the wine down staright away and placed my hands over hers.

When she was pregnant with Isla, she was a quiet baby, she hardly ever kicked but this little one is going to be a footballer when he's older, I can just tell. When I found out she was having a baby boy, I was so happy.

We already had a perfect little girl so it was time for a perfect little boy now. She was six months pregnant and I honestly could not wait for him to be born. We had the names Finn, Leon and Tyler picked out but to be honest I only put Tyler in there because of Katie Hopkins, the snobby old witch.

After the little one stopped kicking, I gave Kelsey the beers to take in there while I grabbed the wine, just smelling the wine made her cranky and want to have a drink and in all honesty, even though I would listen I didn't want to listen to her complain all night because then that would mean whatever I did would be wrong and it made her upset - something I really did not want.

Kelsey sat down next to Dani on the sofa, both their bumps on show and I sat on the floor next to Josh.

I loved all my family so much, they were always there for me and in all honesty without them I would never have gotten through half the shit that I've been in. Like Sammi's death, decided whether to go with Kelsey or work..everything.

Now, my dad has retired I've taken over his business and it's a pretty good trade to be in at the moment. With the business being decades old, we have a good reputation in Leeds which is key in this recession, we've always got about two or three jobs a week.

And Kelsey went to university and is now a graphic designer and she designs websites for many companies like Smooth and Capital FM and many others and she got paid quite a lot which was great. We were living comfortably which was all that mattered.

I was still best mates with Calvin and we were still just as close. I talked to Leon a few times during the week on Facebook and Ashleigh and Alana still check up on me so I think it's safe to say, life was going more than great at the moment and I was more than grateful for it all.

I never take one day for granted.
