Chapter Ten
I heaved our suitcases into the hotel room, Sammi lightly pulling her small suitcase behind her. We were in room 1983, which was on the top floor, reserved for the holiday representatives.
As soon as I was in, the suitcases were dumped at the door and my jumper and t-shirt were off. Damn stupid English weather! I sighed heavenly, as the warm air circled my body, instead of the sticky, hot weather I have endured since we landed.
I spun around to see Sammi staring at me. “See something you enjoy?” I smirked. She ignored me and kept staring at my chest, so I bent to pick up my t-shirt pretending to put it back on, making her move towards me, pulling the t-shirt away and kissing me forcefully.
Once we broke away, she looked up at me, “don’t put the t-shirt back on.” She ordered in her soft voice making me chuckle. She picked up the t-shirt and threw it into the bedroom, “are you going to follow it?” She spoke and I didn’t have to nod before I was running into the bedroom.
My eyes opened and I immediately felt empty. I climbed out of the tangled bed covers and placed some boxer shorts on, a silly grin on my face. “Sammi?” I called out. No answer came so I walked into the bathroom. She’s probably gone out to see the resort.
Once I was done in the shower, I climbed out and wrapped a clean towel around my waist. My stomach grumbled, so I started to make my way to the kitchen, as I stepped into the living room sort of thing, to be greeted by Sammi and some other girl.
The stranger gasped. “Is that him?”
Sammi glanced at me offhandedly, “yeah, he’s a slob.”
“I’m hurt!” I cried laughing.
“A slob? Really Sam?” the other girl laughed and she nodded her head.
“I only use him for show.”
“Right, I’m going away before my ego is hurt even more.” I told them, making them laugh. The kitchen was calling me, so I opened the fridge and pulled out some cheese before taking some bread and making a cheese butty. I am so glad that they fill the fridges with snack food.
I wandered back to the bathroom, ignoring the stares the strange girl was giving me and started to get into my casual clothes, we weren’t starting work until tomorrow, so we don’t have to wear the awful pink and turquoise uniforms. Even if it is just a t-shirt for the evening, it was still hideous.
Once I looked decent, I sat down next to Sammi and kissed her on the cheek lightly. “I’m going to go and check out the hotel.” I told her and she nodded her head and resumed her talking to the other girl.
I climbed into the lift at the end of the hallway and pressed the ground floor button. Once the doors opened, all I could see were masses of people around the swimming pool and at the bar. I headed straight there. “Can I have a cold beer please? I asked the bar man and he nodded his head.
He opened it with a bottle opener and put it in front of me. I took a long sip before putting it down and sat on one of the stools. I glanced around and noticed immediately that none of the girls were even on par to Sammi. I sighed; she really had ruined me – not like I complained much.
Some girl started muttering to her mates before walking over to me, in some sort of skimpy bikini. “Hey, why are you so lonely?” She purred.
“Oh, I’m not,” I told her.
“Erm, why are you sat alone then?”
“My girlfriend is sat upstairs putting her clothes away,” I informed her, trying to be friendly seeing as I’m going to be here for two months.
“Oh, have you just got here?”
I nodded my head. “Yeah, we’re the holiday representatives, we’re going to be here for the next two months,” I explained. “How long have you been here?”
“You’re the holiday reps? You don’t look like it! Is it good?” She rambled.
I shrugged my shoulders. “Eh, it is good because I’m away from England for eight months of the year on a long holiday, and thanks I guess.” I replied answering her questions.
“You’re on holiday for eight months?” She cried. “I’m so jealous!”
“Yeah, but I only have four months to see my family.” I responded.
Her smile faltered a little. “That’s a little sad.”
I nodded my head. “Yeah, I would really hate it, but like I said, I spend the eight months solely with my girlfriend, so it does have its perks.” I laughed.
“Your girlfriend is a holiday rep as well?”
I nodded my head again. “Yeah, it’s where we met.”
“Aww, that’s so cute!”
“Thanks.”
“No problem, I’m going back to my mates now that I know you’re taken.” She replied, making me laugh a little.
“Okay, see you around.” I told her with a little wave.
She didn’t seem too bad, but I know there are going to be more girls and boys a like trying their luck with Sammi or I, I had seen it too many times whilst being here and although they weren’t so bad, sober, it was in the night when they were drunk was when it got bad.
I drank the last of my drink before going back to our hotel room and pack away my clothes, if Sammi hadn’t already.
“Hey, where’s that girl gone?” I asked her as I stepped through the door.
“By that girl, I am assuming you mean Marina and she went to work seeing as she came last week.” She informed me before taking a sip of her bottled coke.
“Oh okay. Are you okay?” I asked.
“Yeah, I’m fine, sorry. I’m just tired from the travelling.”
I nodded my head. “I know, even though we had a nap this morning.” I smirked and she rolled her eyes.
“I believe we didn’t do much sleeping.” She replied before walking into the bedroom.
“I think it was better.” I responded.
She smiled. “I’m having a nap, wake me up about half five.” She called and I nodded my head at her before she disappeared.
