i've been doing some plot revision, and the only way I can figure out how to make Fire & Ice work is if the first book takes place over the course of like an entire year, from like September of one year to November of the next

so obviously I made an actual physical timeline of how things would have to play out if I want the plot to be engaging and for nothing to be cramped or weird, and uh yeah it's gonna take a while.
