I was lying on the couch miserable. I had a horrible dry cough and my throat was killing me. I was sprawled out on the couch tangled in a blanket. I looked like a hot mess; my hair was un-brushed and looked like a total rat's nest. I was wearing an oversized sweater and some Hollister sweatpants. Let's face it. I felt like crap. But, I knew Niall would be coming home soon. So, I brushed my hair, and put on some real clothes. Niall didn't know I was sick yet, and he had been under A LOT of stress lately because of his new movie that was going to premiere this summer. I didn't want to put another burden on him, so I made myself look halfway decent. I sat on the couch and tried to act as if nothing was wrong. If Niall found out I was sick, he would have to take care of me. I don't want him to have to do that.

"Princess! I'm home!" Niall called.

"In the living room." I said with as much enthusiasm as I could muster.

"Hey babe." Niall said. He walked over and leaned into me.

"No! Don't kiss me... I mean, just don't." I said uneasily.

"What? Why can't I kiss my princess? Is everything okay?" Niall asked concerned.

"Ya, ya. I'm fine... it's just that like, I'm like starving, so like I needed to get like some food before I like, pass out...ya, that's it." Wow. I totally suck at lying. I ran quickly into the kitchen.

"Nicole!" Niall called. He ran into the kitchen after me. I took out the Cheerios from the cabinet. I poured them in a bowl. I put a bunch in my mouth. I winced. They tasted even more bland then normal.

"Nicole," Niall said putting a piece of my dark brown hair behind my ear, "it's okay to be sick." Niall said.

"What? I'm not sick!" I said dramatically putting a hand over my chest.

"You think I couldn't tell? You sound so stuffed up." Niall said.

"Oh Niall, I didn't want to tell you because I didn't want you to have to take care of me. I didn't wanna put another burden on you because I knew how much stress you were under."

"Princess! You will never ever be a burden on me. I love you. You know that right?" He asked.

"I sure do." I said smiling as he pulled me in for a hug. "I sure do."

We ended that night with Chinese food and watching movies. Niall is perfect. I couldn't imagine spending this moment with anybody else.
