Mutating

CLAIRE'S POV

I slung Olivia's changing bag over my shoulder and took her off Lowery. I turned back round to the boys, "You three my office, now" I said sternly before marching off. Thankfully my desk was clear so I could set up the changing mat. "Owen has to work, I have some work to do as well as looking after Olivia," I sighed. The boys and Owen just stared at me blankly. Do I seriously have to solve everything around here. "Right! No, buts or ifs, this is what is going to happen" I said eyeing Owen especially. A small smirked appeared on Owen's face. I opened Olivia's nappy to realise that see didn't need changing. I handed her to Owen and packed everything back up. "Zach, you're going with Owen and you will do exactly what he says and help him with his work" I told him. Zach just nodded, running his hands through his hair. "Gray, you can stay with me and help with Olivia" I spoke softly as he is too innocent. "Okay, then bye" Owen said shuffling to the door. "Not so fast, Mr Grady." I called to him. "First of all you still have our daughter and it's your responsibility to keep Zach out of trouble. Hopefully you can manage it" I said half joking half not. The boys sniggered at Owen, whilst he clicked his tongue in annoyance. Owen handed Olivia over me and gave me a kiss in the process. "Get a room" Zach scoffed. Owen gave Olivia a kiss on her forehead. "Bye-bye" he cooed at her, "look after them Gray" Owen ruffled his hair before leaving. "See you later" Zach followed.

"Sorry, Aunt Claire about earlier" Gray mumbled. "It's okay, I just don't what you and your brother getting hurt" I sighed. "Do you want me to do anything?" He asked politely. "Errm, could you bring the rest of Olivia's stuff in here please" I replied. Gray came back with Lowery, carrying the bags. "I couldn't carry them all, so Lowery helped" he said dumping them in the corner. "Thanks guys" I said putting a sleepy baby back in her car seat.

OWEN'S POV

"Soo, what's new" I said to Zach stepping in the elevator. "Not much" he replied bluntly. We both stood there awkwardly not saying anything. "Y'know the new sharks things, how comes we haven't seen them mutate in the reptiles" Zach asked filling the silence. "W..wait, what!?!" I spat out confused. The new assets were just intelligent sharks. "Well, when Gray and I were in the restricted area we heard some guy called Dr yoo, Dr Wu? Talking to some guy called Mr Masrani" Zach spoke cautiously trying not to get himself in more trouble. "And what were they saying!!!" I blurted out. Zach jumped at my sudden out burst. He opened his mouth to speak as the elevator opened and Dr Wu walked in. "C'mon lets go" I said dragging Zach out of the lift quickly before he could speak.

We made our way through the crowds of people. I ushered Zach into my cramped office at the side of the dolphin enclosure. "What's the rush" he asked plonking himself down on the small couch in the corner. "I need to know, what were they talking about?" I said calmly. "Errm, well, Dr Wu was saying that the new animals should only be open on certain days at certain times. To err," he sounded a bit confused. "Hmm" I urged him on. "To prevent the public from seeing them mutate into the reptiles...then I got bored and only half listened. I think they said something about no body else knowing to protect the company for the time being, or something like that, anyways" Zach finished. "That filthy son of a b!tch" I muttered. Zach pulled his phone out and put his feet up. "I gotta do some paperwork, then we're going" I said sitting down at my desk. "K" Zach called totally absorbed in his phone.

This company was full of back stabbing liars, who only care about money. Who knew about the mutation, I knew there was rumours but I never believed them. How was Claire going to react !¿!? "Right, Zach I'm finished lets go" I said tidying my papers together. Zach begrudgingly got off the sofa and followed me to the hybrid enclosure. "Why are we here? I've seen the stupid fish" Zach grumbled. "I thought you haven't seen them mutate" I replied Sharply. I check my watch 1:15pm. "Errm, Zach do you wanna go up and have lunch with Claire and Gray?" I asked because he was probably hungry and obviously didn't want to be here. "Okay, sure, see you later Owen" Zach cheered up a bit before jogging off. I stood at the back of the crowds of people eager to get a view of the hybrids. I was standing there for about 15 minutes and I hadn't notice anything unusual. Knock, knock, knock. "Hey! Kid no tapping on the glass" I said sternly. I pushed my way forwards to see the kid. He repeatedly banged his fist against the glass. "I said don't do that" I growled. The kid narrowed his eyes at me before returning to thumping the glass. One of the sharks noticed and swam into the glass. The kid fell back in fright and I felt smug; he had it coming for him.

I returned my attention to the tank and the two other sharks were now head butting the glass. I stared in awe, they were supposed to be smarter than this. I suddenly heard a cracking noise and stepped back. "Oh sh!t" I muttered as I watched the crack spread across the glass. "Everybody out!" I shouted. In a mad panic everyone sprinted to the end of the corridor. I was at the back of frantic visitors when I heard the glass shattered along with the gushing of water. "GET OUT NOW!" I shouted at the top of my lungs. I was knocked back by the water and was submerged. My heart was struck with fear as I saw the hybrids mutate. I saw dissolve into water. I gasped for air scrambling to the surface. They looked just the mosasaur but shaped like a crocodile.

Dr fxcking Wu, I swear to god if I ever get my hands on that man I will kill him. I waded my way to the exit and jammed the door shut with a fired extinguisher. I burst into the restricted area and headed straight for Dr Wu's office. Luckily for him, he wasn't in there. I hate this man so much, I was even jealous at the fact that his office was 3 times the size of mine! I noticed some secret bookcase entrance slightly ajar. How cliché.
