Meaning Behind Scar

*Zira's POV*

Sun Pride...

Both my mom and step dad are out for the entire day. I was left to baby sit my two step siblings. Saada and Nemsi are a paw full! They won't stay still for nothing. I know they're cubs and all. But gosh!

I walk up to a bush. In my mouth I carried a thigh from an gazelle. I drop it down.

"Saada, Nemsi!" I called.

Two cubs run out from the bush with smiles.

"Yay, you brought dinner!" Said Saada.

Nemsi lift a brow. "Gazelle again Zira?"

I lay down and lick my paws clean. "That's all I could find for now. Be grateful Nemsi and eat your dinner. Some lions who are rouges are finding a hard time to get a meal. Some haven't eaten in weeks or months. At least we have family, a warm den, and a nice friendly pride to live in!"

Saada hit Nemsi's shoulder but not so hard to injure him. "Exactly!"

Nemsi rolled his eyes. "Alright."

The two dug in to the meat I brought them. I'm not hungry. I'll hunt later for me. I just want to make sure my siblings eat so mom won't yell at me. Once I put them to bed, I'll go hunt me something.

"Man, that was good!" Said Saada, laying on her back.

Nemsi let out a loud burp. Saada laughed and I shook my head.

I got up with a stretch. "Okay cubs, bed time! I don't want mother to snap at me when she comes home seeing you two awake."

"Oh come on Zira, give us five more minutes." Whined Nemsi.

"Nope, bed time. Come along you two!"

I start leading the way to the Pride's den. Saada who always follow orders walk beside me. Nemsi sat in his same position watching us go. I pause and turn around with a smirk.

"Oh no you don't!"

Before Nemsi could even get away, i race over and pick up by the scruff. Nemsi crossed his little furry arms with a frown. Saada chuckled while he stuck his tongue at her.

When we approach the den, Saada ran inside. I put Nemsi down. He race after her. I walked in normal and watch him tackle his sister. Saada giggled laying in her back while he stood over her growling playfully.

"That's enough you two. Save your energy for tomorrow!"

Nemsi got off of his sister. He went to go lay down in his usual spot. Saada did the same thing and curl herself in a small ball. I stare at them for awhile until their eyes are fully closed. They may be my step siblings, but I love them to death like real blood. If anyone ever hurts them I swear. I tip toe out the den and walk back into the grassy plains.

What do I want to eat tonight? Zebra? Nah. Antelope? No. Gazelle? Nope. Wilder Beast? Yes! I thought.

I spot wilder beasts drinking at a waterhole. It's dark now which will make hunt easy. Wilder Beast have poor sight at night. Us African cats night vision is 100x better. We can see everything!

I got low on the ground crawling my way up close. Just as I was about to pounce, the Wilder Beasts run off.

Huh?

I didn't scare them. What did? I sat up and scan my eyes around. I'm not alone. A scent came upon my nose. Another lion is here. I growl showing out my claws.

"SURPRISE!!!"

I turn around and next thing you know I got pinned. My eyes are closed. I'm frightened.
