Same Day, Late Evening...

The sun is setting fast. I have to make it home before it gets dark. Zuzu soar above me while I ran through the plains to Pride Rock. The wind blew an unfamiliar scent. I came to a stop sniffing the air twice. Zuzu flew down and sat on my shoulder.

"What's the matter, sir?" She asked.

I scan my eyes around. "I smell a strange scent. It's strong! Something right now is here."

"I'll fly above and take a look."

Zuzu fly up to the sky. I start to growl pushing my way through the tall grass. I hate a trespasser. Especially rouges! Rouges like to take over and steal prey.

"Sir, I found something!" Zuzu squawked.

"Where?!" I ask.

"Follow me."

Zuzu flew off fast. I ran chasing after her. She took me to a...tree? I didn't see anything.

I lift a brow. "Zuzu? I don't see-"

A medium dark brown slender lioness with bright blue eyes, dark pink nose came out from behind the tree. She has a darker brown stripe-symbol down her head to her back.

I roar. "Who are you trespasser?"

"My name is Sauda. I mean no harm! I'm only in the Pride Lands looking for my daughter, Zira." She spoke.

"Zira?" Zuzu repeated.

Sauda nodded. "Yes, have you both seen her? She has terrible eye vision at night. I have to find her!"

I turn around heading home. "I don't know a Zira. I'm sorry miss it's late. You must leave my lands now or I'll get the lion guards!"

"Thanks anyway."

I heard Sauda's paws take off in a opposite direction. Zuzu flew down sitting on my shoulder again.

"Ahadi, you could of at least got the cub's description from the mother and have the lion guards help search." She suggested.

"She sound like she was lying, Zuzu. I don't help those who are outside of my pride. You know the rules! Besides, it's getting late. I can't risk my lion guards hurt or attacked at night." I frown.

Zuzu didn't say a word. She sigh and fly away. I'm guessing she's going to her nest for bed. I climb up Pride Rock and walked inside the cave hearing loud individual snores from the pride. Everyone is asleep. I walk to the very back of the cave where my mother, wife, and kids sleep. I lay down in my normal spot next to Uru and shut my eyes.

*Sauda's POV*

That lion probably thought I left. Ha, wrong! I don't care if I'm breaking his rules. My cub Zira is out here some where. Her scent is all over the place. The question is, where is she?

"Zira!" I call.

My voice echoed, no response. I stare down at my paws with sad eyes. Maybe I'm too late.

"Mommy, mommy!"

I looked up. It sound like Zira's cute innocent voice. I start running forward. "Zira baby, where are you?"

"Here!" She answered.

My ears followed her voice. It's close now. I stop sniffing the air. Zira must be behind this large green bush. I was about to check it out, but a male lion jumped out. He has Zira in his mouth, carefully holding her by the scruff. Blood is stained on his muzzle and her tan fur.

"No!" I cried.

"Mommy!" Zira whined.

I crouch down growling loud at the male. "Release my daughter or you'll face your death early!"

The male did as told. Zira came running to me and hugged my paw.

"Mommy, I'm so scared!"

I nuzzle her smiling. "I know, baby. It's alright mommy is here now."

I notice one of Zira's ear is half torn. It's like someone bit it off with their sharp teeth. That's where the blood came from. Zira stood between my front two paws. I roared extra loud at the male.

"You hurt my daughter!!!"

He roared back. "I'm a Lion Guard. Keep you and your child out the Pride Lands! If you return here again, I'm sure the King will speak with you both and do way more damage."

I pick up my paw and clawed the male hard across his face. It left three deep line marks. One on his muzzle, nose, and under his eye. He's lucky it didn't hit his eye or else he'd be blind. I pick up Zira racing off home back to the Sun Pride.

When we safely reached the other side of the river, I pant and sat down. Zira did the same.

"That was close!" Said Zira.

I look down at her frowning. "What were you even thinking Zira going into the Pride Lands? You got hurt by a lion guard! Luckily he wasn't the King. Today I could of lost you. I was worried sick!"

Zira cried. I shouldn't of snap at her like that. I was just so terrified. I laid down pulling her close to me. She burry her face on my shoulder.

"I'm sorry, mommy."

I nuzzle her. "It's okay, your still young. Now we both know not to return the Pride Lands again."

She nod sniffing. I lick her cheek then her badly messed up ear that's still bleeding. Poor child...

"Now kids are really going to make fun of me." Said Zira.

"What do you mean, Zira?" I ask, still cleaning her ear.

"My ear the way it's half bitten off."

"So what. They don't know what happened."

"But-"

I frown. "Zira, drop it!"

Zira jumped. Great, I scared her again. I nuzzle her and stood up.

"Now, let's go home. It's way pass your bed time, young lady!"

Zira nod following behind me slowly. I sigh. What can I do to make Zira find friends?
