Fears

*NO ONE'S POV*

Little Kibwe sat down in front of the river. He sighs, staring down at his own reflection. "Why do I have to always be alone? I never fit in!" He thought to himself.

Kibwe close his eyes tight trying so hard not to cry in case someone sees. A fish jump out of the water and hit it's tail on Kibwe's nose. Kibwe snap open his eyes with a gasp. The fish went back in the water swimming fast away.

"Hey you, get back here!" Kibwe growled.

Kibwe walk inside the water and swam following behind the fish. He dive down to find it.

"Aha!"

Kibwe found the fish hiding behind a rock. He swam fast and caught it in his mouth. Now all he has to do is swim back to land and not drop the fish. Kibwe step out of the river shaking his wet fur dry. His extra fur on his head covers his eyes.

He took one of his claws to comb it back in place.

"Whoa, that was so cool!" Said a voice.

Kibwe sat down the fish with his left paw on top of it in case it tries to get away. "Who said that?"

"Me Zawadi!"

A lioness cub walks up smiling. It was defiantly the princess's high chirpy voice.

Kibwe turned his head away from her. "Oh, it's just you princess."

Zawadi lifts a brow. "What's wrong, Kibwe?"

"Nothing. I should go back home now and show my parents what I've caught."

"Oh okay. Just wanted to say what you did in that river was very amazing. Im terrified of water!"

Kibwe was about to walk away but paused. "Your scared of water?"

Zawadi nods, "Yeah, kind of like that. I don't like going in deep ends. I prefer close to land. But you seem brave and un-frightened."

"My dad taught me and my brothers how to swim. I can uh teach you if you want princess?"

"Please, call me Zawadi! And teach me? I don't think that's a good idea, Kibwe."

"Why not?"

Zawadi looks down, "Last time I tried on my own, my paw got stuck between two rocks. If it wasn't for my dad that day I could have drown and died. Every since then I've been terrified of water. Don't tell anybody this, but I get nightmares of it too! My big sister Ama often teases me..."

Kibwe hugs her. "I am so sorry, Zawadi. Ama teasing you about something like that isn't nice. What is her fears?"

"Bugs and mice. I'm not afraid of those things!"

"Let's get her back!"

"Kibwe, what if we get in trouble?"

Kibwe smiled, "We won't, trust me on this. Now where is your sister with my brothers?"

Zawadi began leading the way. "Not too far from here, come on!"

Kibwe picks up his fish and follow behind Zawadi. He knows just the plan to scare Ama.
