*Uru's POV*

Pride Lands, A Year Later...

Today is the day Mufasa, Taka, and Athena are all getting tested. A special test on royalty to see who has a chance of being the next leader of Pride Rock. I'll be the judge, Ahadi will test them. They're no longer Cubs anymore. They've developed into strong teens.

"To become a leader, you must stand or sit tall with your head tilt proudly high." Said Ahadi, circling them.

Mufasa stood proudly with his head tilt up high. Taka did the same but sitting. Athena otherwise tried and completely failed. How? I really don't know the answer to that. She wouldn't be still.

"Next, you must respect everyone equally and fair in the kingdom. From the crawling ant to the leaping antelope." Ahadi continued.

Mufasa smiled. "I'm always friendly!"

"Same here!" Nodded Athena.

Taka didn't say anything. We all know his temper can get the best of him. That's something he needs to work on.

"Lastly, you MUST be strong and brave. A King or Queen has to be able to protect his/her pride. No matter what type of danger it is. You have to be ready!"

Mufasa poked his chest out. "I'm always brave. Nothing ever stands in my way!"

Athena lower her ears sadly. "I have a few fears..."

Taka smirked. "I'm not afraid of any thing either, Mufasa. I saved a lion cub from a hyena once!"

Ahadi sat down beside me and nod. "I remember. That was very brave of you Taka!"

Mufasa frown at Taka with jealousy. Taka quietly chuckled. Athena roll her eyes. This is defiantly going to be a hard decision. I wish they can all be leaders, but only one can be it. I whisper my pick in Ahadi's ear. He nod agreeing. Thank god! I hope this won't effect the other two though. I want everyone to think of this as a fair choice.

"Me and your mother have decided to announce the Pride Lands future leader in front of the whole pride in the evening." Said Ahadi.

Taka looked up and put his two front paws together. "Please pick me, lord!"

Athena shrugged. "I know it won't be me. That's fine though! I was never interested in royalty. Being Queen seems too much for one to handle."

I lick Athena's cheek and smiled. "Non-sense Athena! Being Queen is the best gift anyone could have hope for. I bet half of these lionesses in the pride dream to have my title and be with your father."

Mufasa nodded. "True."

Ahadi nod his head pointing towards the cave's exit. "Now you all go out. Me and your mother have some more discussing to do."

Mufasa, Taka, and Athena left out the cave. I put my head underneath Ahadi's chin and sighed.

"You sure picking Mufasa is the best choice, honey?" I ask.

"Absolutely! He's very inspiring to Cubs, friendly, loving, never tempered, brave, and strong. I can picture him as a wonderful King. Mufasa would never let this pride or kingdom down. He never disobey me." Ahadi replied.

"Athena has the beauty. She's also kind, very intelligent, and wise. But she seems less interested than her brothers when it comes for the crown. So that's why I didn't choose her."

Ahadi nod.

"Taka is extremely brave and determined. But it's just that temper I'm worried about. He needs it fixed!" I continue.

Ahadi nodded again. The cave fell silent. Neither of us spoke. Just million of thoughts spread across our minds. I know how excited Taka is. He really think he deserves to be King. I totally agree, but Mufasa has the better chance though. Mufasa knows what's expected and how things get done. He's more calm and not tempered. The pride will definitely like him as their future King. All me and Ahadi have to do is announce it in front of the whole pride in the evening.

*Taka's POV*

"So, who do you guys think mother and father will pick as the next leader?" Asked Athena.

The three of us are walking around the kingdom bored.

"Me of course!" I grinned.

Mufasa shook his head. "Nope. I think it's me."

I frown. "Why would it be you? I saved a lion cub from a hyena. That shows proof how brave I am!"

"True." Athena said. "But Muffy's personality may win him in."

"How?"

"Well. He's inspiring, strong, brave, friendly, loving, and never tempered."

Mufasa gave Athena a smile. "Thanks, sis!"

I growled with jealousy. "I can be all of those things too!"

Athena smirked. "Oh really?"

"I'd love to see, Taka!" Said Mufasa rolling his eyes.

SNAP!

Me, Mufasa, and Athena paused our walking.

"What was that?" I twitch my ears.

Athena looked right. "Sound like a stick being step on."

Mufasa looked left. "Ssssh! I think we're being followed."

The three of us crouched down. Out of no where from the tall green grass jump a teen lioness. Not any lioness, it was Sarabi. She pounced on Mufasa. It cause for them to roll around a few times and stop with Mufasa pinning her down successfully.

Sarabi rolled her red eyes. "Okay, you win."

"As always." Mufasa chuckled.

Mufasa hop off so she can stand up.

"Where's Sarafina?" Asked Athena.

Sarabi looked around. "I don't know. She was behind me."

Roaaaaaar!!!!

Everyone turn their heads. Sarafina raced up and tackle me hard on the ground. I fell on my back with her on top. Our nose touched. Her cheeks instantly turned red. I smile finding it cute. Sarafina got off quick and sat down between Sarabi and Athena.

"Hey, Saffy!" I wave my paw.

She wave back still blushing. "H-Hey Taka!"

Athena gave me a wide smirk. She pick up something about me and Sarafina. Of course we like each other. We just never made it official yet. I always told myself when I become King, I'll make Sarafina my beautiful Queen.

Sarabi smiled. "You both are so cute, just go out already!"

Sarafina giggled. Mufasa look shocked at me. I don't know why. I mean he should of been knew that I like Sarafina. It's really obvious. Every since when we were Cubs. The time I gave her that blue flower was the first sign. Someday she will be mines...
