KATHRYN

"Hey." bungad ni Julia sa'kin nang sagutin niya ang tawag ko.

An hour passed after what Daniel did to me. Pumunta ako sa condo namin para makapag-isip-isip and I can't just even think well. Gusto ko 'yung may makakausap ako at lumayo muna dito. I can't even also stare at him for a while.

"Uhm, you're free? Kayo ni Miles?" I asked, playing with my fingers.

Sandaling tumahimik ang linya bago siya sumagot, "Tamang-tama ay nandito rin si Miles. Bakit?" tanong niya.

Napangiti naman ako. "Let's hang out tonight. SL, 8 pm."

I hang up already before stooding up. Nagbabad muna ako sa bathtub bago nagbihis. I decided to wear a simple ripped jeans and a peach midriff top. I paired it with a pair of Valentinos na hindi ko pa nasusuot and tied my hair into a messy bun. And, I'm done. Naglagay lang ako ng kaunting make-up bago umalis na.

Agad naman akong pinapasok ng bouncer when I stepped into their hallroom. Malalakas na tugtugin ang bumungad sa akin. I can also see some flirting and dancing dirty with others. Ganito pala sa bars?

"Naisipan mong magyaya?" sabi ni Miles. Umupo naman sila sa harap ko.

"Order?" tanong ko at pilit na ngumiti, "Three shots of margarita." sabi ko sa waiter.

Miles slightly touched my hand. "May problema ba? Si Daniel ulit?"

I sighed and nodded my head. I have no guts to tell them the truth, what happened a while ago.

"He kissed you?! The fck!" Julia squealed, "He's a goddamn jerk! Gosh!"

Pinikit ko ng mariin ang aking mga mata. "Julia, stop. Maraming makakarinig. That's why I'm here, right? I want some advice." I told them.

"Advice? Matagal ka na naming sinabihan, Kathryn. Kahit naman mag-advice kami, hindi mo naman susundin eh." aniya at tinignan ako ng mataman.

Miles slapped her hand. "Ano ka ba Julia? Imbes na tulungan mo, sinermonan mo pa."

"She deserves this. Hindi naman magaganyan si Kath kung hindi siya umasa ng umasa," she sipped her drink. "Its the benefit of the doubt."

"Hindi ako umasa.."

"Oh, edi ano? Umasa ka, Kathryn. Umasa ka na mamahalin ka din niya pabalik. You always wish for it, I can see it in your eyes. Pero masakit umasa." aniya.

I secretly sighed. "I'm not. I don't -"

"Stop being such a liar. Babae ako, I can feel it with you. Matagal na kitang kilala, Kathryn. 'Wag mong pikutin ang ulo namin." Julia retorded.

Silence followed us. Naawang tinignan lamang ako ni Miles. I faked a smiled.

"I tell you, Kath, if you will not stop infatuating him, you will feel the pain. The pain you felt before. Masasaktan at masasaktan ka rin sa huli." sabi niya at tumayo na at naglakad palayo.

Damn. I lost my bestfriend.

"I'm sorry. I can't say anything. We warned you, Kath. Its just only for your own good." ngumiti sa'kin si Miles bago sundan si Julia.

Napangiti ako bago punasan ang luhang tumulo sa mata ko. Here we go again, my mistake for loving him. I don't get it. Nagmahal lang naman ako, pero ako pa itong mali. Parang mali ang magmahal ng isang tao.

Pumunta ako sa bar station and ordered the harder drink. I drank it without any chaser. Baka mawawala lahat ng bigat ng dibdib ko dito. Uminom lang ako ng uminom hanggang sa nakaramdam ako ng hilo.

Nanghihina akong lumabas ng bar at pumara ng taxi. Hindi ko alam kung paano ako nakarating ng condo namin ng maayos. Nang makapasok ako ay hinubad ko ang sapatos ko at humiga sa sofa.

Kinabukasan ay sinag ng araw ang gumising sa'kin. I stretched my arms and roamed my eyes around. Nasa kwarto na ako. The last time I checked, I slept on the sofa. Who even took me here?

Bumangon na ako at pumunta sa banyo to do my morning rituals. Nagbihis na rin ako since I'm still wearing my party outfit. Paglabas ko ay nakita ko si Daniel na kumakain ng breakfast.

"Glad you're up already." he said in a cold tone. I looked away and sat infront of him, not even throwing glances for once.

"Ikaw ba naglipat sa'kin kagabi?" tanong ko habang kumakain.

He nod. "I saw you this morning kaya inilipat kita sa kama," aniya at tinignan ako ng mataman. "Saan ka ba kagabi? Naglasing ka?"

Ngumiwi ako at tumawa ng sarkastiko. "Wala ka ng pakialam doon."

"Why? I'm your husband. I have the right to know where my wife is."

"Wow." I remarked, "I'm just your wife in papers, same goes with you. At kailan ka ba nagkaroon ng pakialam?" sabi ko at tumayo. Inilapag ko ang mga plato sa sink at akmang huhugasan 'to ng hinila ni Daniel ang braso ko.

"What's your problem?" inis na tanong nito.

At may gana pang magalit. I took a deep breathe before clanging into his touch.

"Ikaw." simple kong sagot, "Ang labo labo mo. Why can't you make yourself clear? You told me to stay away from you pero ikaw 'tong mismong lalapit sa akin at hahalikan lang ako ng basta basta at walang rason."

"May rason ako." he mumbled. Luckily, I heard it.

I cleared my throat. "Ano? Tell me, what's your reason?"

"I'm fvcking jealous. Ayokong may ibang hahawak sa'yo at lalapit sa'yo."

Damn him. Hindi niya ako pag-aari para sabihin sa'kin lahat ng 'to. I can feel my tears streamed down.

"I'm not yours, Daniel. I will never be. Kahit mahal kita pero alam kong hindi mo ako kayang mahalin pabalik, hindi ako magiging sa'yo. When at the first place, you're not mine. So never tell me those things like I'm your property because I'm not." I said and sobbed.

"Kathryn.."

I looked at him. "And please, stop playing with my feelings. Hindi ako laruan para paglaruan mo."

Lumapit siya sa akin at pinunasan ang mga luha sa pisngi ko. I can see sadness and pain in his eyes but he tried to hide it.

"We can pretend if you want. Just for everybody's sake."

a/n: im sorry for not updating for ages already. im just busy for school since my top priority or now is school lang talaga. thank you for all those messages sent to me, some of them were not replied pero nabasa ko po lahat ng yun. thankies 😘

and, medyo nawala na ako sa plot ng story so i need to backread muna when i have my freetime na. my last update for this month, sembreak na siguro ako babalik sa pagsusulat nito. it will take time but promise me, it will be worth it. also, i have a new story entitled "chase". gonna focus on that first. thank you guysss xx
