Astrid’s P.O.V.
When my dad and I got home I saw that my older brother Matt was home cause his black jeep was parked in front of our house. We got inside and Matt demanded to see what the dress looked like on me, so I went up to my room, let Bella out and changed out of my clothes and into my dress. After I checked in the mirror what I looked like, I went downstairs and showed Matt the dress. Matt got up walked around and said, “It looks beautiful on you, Astrid.” I smiled at him and said, “Thank you, Matt.” Then something I didn’t expect my brother to do, he started dancing with me. I smiled at Matt and he kissed me on my forehead and then he whispered, “You better go upstairs and change quickly before the other two come home.” I nodded my head and Bella followed me upstairs where I took my dress off and into pajamas and then I grabbed my phone and called Duke.
Duke of course answered on the first ring and he said, “Hi baby was about to call you.” I chuckled and said, “Guess what I did today?” Duke I could tell was thinking and he said, “You went and bought me a pony, how thoughtful of you.” I laughed at that and said, “I didn’t buy you a pony but I did get a dress.” Duke literally dropped the phone and I heard him say, “Shit, stupid Duke dropping your phone when your girlfriend’s calling you, real nice.” I heard Duke picking the phone up and he said, “Sorry about that babe.” I laughed and said, “Why’d you drop your phone?” Duke paused for a while and then he said, “I was shocked, I mean the dance is in a week and I don’t have my tux yet.”
I gasped and then I said, “Are you serious, when are you getting one?” Duke waited for me to calm down and when I did he says, “My dad will be buying me one tomorrow.” I heard Jared telling me that dinner is ready so I told Duke that I have to go but that I’ll call him after I’m done eating. I hung up the phone and went downstairs to my waiting family. I decided not to eat fast cause my stomach hurt last time I ate fast so I took my time eating in the comfort of my own family. After I got done eating, Mike asked me if I could play Halo with him, I decided to play just cause I haven’t for so long and I liked playing video games with him.
Mike and I decided to play against each other and for some reason I ended up killing his player and he never got a chance to get my player. Then when Matt decided to play to get my winning streak destroyed and for some reason I could never find Matt’s player which sucked big time. Matt ended up passing my high score and even passed dad’s score and boy was he pissed cause he demanded the controller from me. I went upstairs and called Duke and when I called him he said, “What took you so long?” I told him to bite me and then I said, “Playing video games with my family.” Duke laughed and said, “Wish I could’ve seen that, who won?” I played back the scene in my head and said, “I did versus Mike but then when Matt took over I lost.” Duke paused for a while and then said, “That’s sad, sorry for the pauses I’m eating in my room right now.” I told him that he’s lucky he gets to eat in his room and Duke said, “Why am I lucky?”
I saw Bella was having a hard time trying to get on the bed so I picked her up, placed her on the bed and said to Duke, “I’m not allowed to eat in my room.” Duke turned on his radio and I heard ‘Nightmare’ by Avenged Sevenfold playing and then Duke said, “I gotta go cause as soon as I wash my stuff, I’m going to bed.” I said okay to him and hung up getting my bed ready, then after that I got my teeth brushed. When I was about ready to get into bed somebody started knocking on my door so I opened up my door and it was my dad. I told him to come in and he did and as soon as he came in he said, “Talked to Duke yet?” I nodded my head and he said, “That’s good.” My dad picked up Bella and he said, “Did he get a tux yet?” I shook my head no and he said, “He said he’ll be getting one tomorrow.”
Dad nodded his head, placed Bella in my arms and left the room shutting my door so I put Bella on my bed and then I went to bed for another day of school. I woke up to hearing ‘Bad Company’ by Five finger death punch playing as a ringtone on my phone. I got up and did my normal shit that ended with me putting on my shoes and after that I went downstairs and made up two eggs since I was tired of toast. As soon as I sat down Jared came over and said, “Thanks Astrid, how did you know I wanted eggs?” I shook my head and said, “There for me, you idiot.” Jared started pouting and said, “Meanie.” So I said to him, "Bite me.”
