Duke’s P.O.V.
I woke up very late and I was muttering insults at myself. I hopped in the shower and quickly got out and I ran into my room and once I got dressed, I called Astrid and told her that I was going to be coming. Astrid was really happy that I was coming over and I grabbed my phone, keys and wallet. Before I left the house I checked to see how much money I have because I wanted to buy Astrid something to make up for not taking her to the mall the other day. I jumped into my car and drove off making sure that I was going the speed limit. I arrived at Astrid’s house five minutes later and just when I’m about to knock on the door, it opens up to reveal Astrid. I smile at her and she says, “You got here quickly.”
I smiled at her again and she says, “Can we go now?” I nodded my head and she yells out to her dad, “I’m going with Duke now.” After she hears a positive response from her dad she steps out onto the front porch and closes the front door. I take her hand in mine and we walk towards my car. I open up the passenger door for Astrid and she gets inside and then after I close the door, I head towards the other side and get in. After I get in I put the key in the ignition and then I turned the radio on and it was on commercial. After I turned the radio on, I drove off and I say, “Have you eaten yet?” I glance at Astrid and I see that she’s shaking her head no so I say, “Awesome, I’ll buy you lunch.”
Astrid started to disagree with me so I say, “Come on Astrid, I want to, so let me.” I hear Astrid sigh and I knew that she was going to allow me to buy lunch and she says, “Fine, you can buy me lunch.” I was cheering in my head and then after I was done doing that I say to Astrid, “Where do you want to eat at?” When we stop at a red light I look at Astrid and she says, “I don’t know, surprise me.” I smile and just when I’m about to tell Astrid to close her eyes she says, “Nothing expensive though.” I tell her that it won’t be expensive and then I tell her that she needs to close her eyes so she won’t see where were going.
Astrid’s P.O.V.
I didn’t really want to close my eyes but I knew that Duke would keep telling me to close my eyes so I did. I have no idea how long my eyes were closed but it felt like an eternity. I felt that the car came to a stop and when I was about to open up my eyes Duke says, “Don’t open your eyes yet.” I keep my eyes shut and Duke says, “Were almost there.” I nod my head and Duke says, “Are your eyes closed still?” I tell him that they are and he says, “Good, I wouldn’t want you to see where were going.” I then ask him if were getting close and he says, “We are.”
I was hoping that I wouldn’t have to keep my eyes closed any longer so I say, “Please hurry up my eyes are hurting.” Duke chuckles and says, “It’s not much further.” I sigh and then I feel somebody grab my hand and then Duke says, “It’s me who has your hand.” I relaxed and squeezed his hand and I felt him squeeze back. Ten minutes I feel the car come to a stop and I say, “Are we here?” Duke tells me that we are so I say, “Can I open my eyes now?” After Duke says that I can, I open them and see that we have stopped at Taco John’s and I say, “I haven’t been here in a long time.”
Duke gets out of the car and then he walks over to my side to help me out and he says, “After we get done eating, will go to the mall.” I smile at him and say, “Can’t wait.” Duke puts an arm around my waist and then we head inside. Fast forwarding to when their leaving the restaurant. Duke has a tight grip on my hand like he thinks that I’ll suddenly disappear and when we arrive at his car, Duke kisses me really hard and says, “Did you get enough to eat?” I nod my head and Duke says, “That’s good, now off to the mall.” I smile and then Duke opens up the door to let me in and once when he gets in too, we drive off heading towards the mall. When we arrive at the mall there weren’t many people so we were able to get a close spot to the entrance. We both get out and walk hand in hand into the mall and we went to my favorite store, Hot Topic.
