"Kiba!" I yelled, running to him with a smile on my face. "Kiba!"

~Kiba's P.O.V~

Chidori had called after, catching my attention. "What?" I barely had time to turn around before I was tackled to the ground.

"Sorry," she said, lifting herself off of me. "I have the day off today!" she announced.

A grin spread across my face. " Well, I still have training, so I better go," I said, getting up from the ground.

"Can I come with you?" she asked, hands clasped behind her back.

"Maybe," I said, shrugging. We began walking towards the training grounds together.

As we went along, we ran into Shikamaru lying on the ground, his eyes closed. "Hey Shika!" Chidori chuckled.

He raised his hand up and smiled. Skipping towards him, Chidori's eyes were closed. She paused when she was standing above, then settling on top of his stomach.

"Hey, what's that for!" Shikamaru groaned, throwing her off.

"Rude child," Chidori growled, stumbling to regain her balance as she made her way back to me. "Later, Shika." She waved as we walked away.

"So, where's your team?" Chidori asked as we arrived at the training grounds.

"I don't know, they should be here," I said, scanning the area. Then, I spotted Kurenai-sensei and my other team members. Chidori and I walked over, greeting them.

"What did I miss?" I asked, hands shoved in my pockets.

"Hi, Chidori, this will make things a little easier. As I was saying before, I'm going to test your strengths. Hinata will fight Kiba, and Shino will fight Chidori," she said with a smile.

We all agreed, nodding our heads. Hinata and I began first, Shino and Chidori sitting down to watch.

~Chidori's P.O.V~

Kiba and Hinata began to spar, leaving me with Shino. Shino had always been a weird guy, he kinda just hung around, always listening. He creeped me out a lot when I was younger, but not as much at this point.

~Time skip~

After helping Kiba's team train, I ran back home. When I came through the door, I saw my dad sitting at the table, eating. "How was your day, Chidori?" he asked, glancing up at me.

"Fine, not much to do," I said, panting at bit as I sat down.

"Alright then, the chunin exams are coming up," he sighed.

I rolled my eyes. "Do I have to enter?" I asked, clearly irritated. I had already passed them two years ago, I didn't want to have to go through it again. It would be tedious, and boring.

"Yes, you do. But if you and the team fail, you are  still a jounin, Don't worry." He smiled, turning back to his food.

"Great," I sighed, rubbing my temples.

~Next day~

I was taking a short break from training with my dad, deciding to walk around the village for a bit. As I walked along, I heard Naruto, Sakura, Konohamaru and some other guy yelling. Naturally, with my nosiness, I went to go check it out. When I turned the corner there was some guy with cat ears looking things sticking up from his head, Naruto, Sakura, Konohamaru and some lady with a fan. The guy with cat ears was holding Konohamaru by the neck, choking him.

I stepped forward, putting my hands up. "Let him go, he's just an annoying kid," I said, trying to reason with him.

The guy turned his head to me, glaring. "Shut it, girly," he spat.

"Don't ever call me that, EVER!" I growled, fingers wrapping around the arm he was holding Konohamaru by, nails digging into his skin.

"What's your problem?" he yelled, his grip loosening.

A pebble was thrown at him, hitting him square in the head. It was Sasuke, tossing another rock gently in his hand. I hadn't noticed him up until his point, but that was expected of him.

"Let him go," Sasuke warned, crushing the rock in his hand. He slowly released his grip, letting the fragments crumble to the ground.

"Dramatic, or nah?" I mumbled under my breath.

"Stop it, Kankuro. You are a disgrace to our village," said a raspy voice.

I looked over, finally noticing the red haired kid hanging from the tree beside Sasuke. Even he seemed surprised by the other genin, his eyes wide.

"S-sorry," stuttered the guy, who was identified as Kankuro. As the three of them started walking away, Sakura called out.

"Hey, why are you here?" she asked.

"Don't tell me you haven't heard about the chunin exams," chuckled the girl with the fan.

"Of course we know! Wait, what are the chunin exams?" Naruto whispered over to me.

"The chunin exams are when genin move up to the next level, to put it in your terms," I said, shaking my head.

The three started walking again, until Sasuke spoke, causing them all to pause. "What's your name?" he asked pointing at the red head.

"Who, me?" asked the fan lady, voice sounding far too hopeful.

"No, the one with the gourd on his back," Sasuke said again, gesturing at the red head.

"My name is Gaara of the desert, I am curious to know what your name is as well, and you. The one with white hair." His raspy voice was really smooth and warm. It was almost comforting, if not for his blank face.

"My name is Sasuke Uchiha," Sasuke said, pride seeping through his voice.

"My name is Chidori Hatake," I whispered, hoping is was loud enough for him to hear.

"We'll see you in the exams," said the fan lady, waving as they walked away, for good this time.

"I bet you wanna know my name to!" Naruto yelled, jumping a bit.

"I couldn't care less," Gaara said, not even bothering to turn around.

Naruto looked at the ground, obviously disappointed.

"It's okay Naruto, someone will want to know your name," I said, trying to cheer him up.

"Who?!" Naruto asked, energy picking up once more.

"I don't know..." I said, thinking about it for a while. After Naruto began sulking in the corner, I remembered something. "Oh, guys let's go to the training field, my dad wants to meet us there," I said, leading the way.
