~Kiba's P.O.V~
Three years had passed since Chidori left the village with Kakashi-sensei. Everything had been pretty boring, but normal. I missed her, a lot. Over the time she was gone, I came to notice how much I really...liked her. I planned on telling her, when she got back, the only problem was how. But, I would figure it out, I had time.
~Chidori's P.O.V~
My dad and I were walking back to the village, I skipped in front, and him reading his book and slowly walking. During the three years was gone, I had made a lot of progress with my demon. I had her almost completely under control, and I was much stronger for it. The whole trip had made me a better ninja, and it was a lot of fun, when not painful. Another discovery was that I have a small crush on Kiba. I have for a while, but I wasn't incredibly aware of it, due to being really oblivious. I was going to tell him when I got to the village, but I wasn't sure I wanted to. I liked the two of us just being friends, but I would figure it out.
The village gate started coming into view, adrenaline shooting through my veins. I sped up, dragging my father along with me. "Come on!" I yelled, a smile plastered on my face.
"Hold on, Chidori. The gate is not going to run away," my dad sighed, putting his book away.
"You don't know that," I pouted. I kept running until we reached the gate. The ninja guarding the gate waved, stopping us.
"You're back, how have you two been?" asked one of the ninja.
"Fine, Chidori's gotten stronger though." My dad smiled.
"Can we go in?" I asked, literally jumping up and down.
"Sure," the other ninja said, allowing us to pass into the village.
"Yay!" I cheered, running through the gates. I skidded to a stop when I saw the sign for Ichiraku's, hoping to find at least one of my friends. Of course, I did. Naruto was sitting at the bar, eating his usual. "Naruto," I called, walking up to him.
"Hm?" He turned around, facing me. "Who're you?"
"Wow, I'm hurt, Naruto. You don't remember your best friend?" My hand rested on my chest in mock offense.
"Chidori?" he yelled, jumping up from his seat.
I smiled. "Yep, It's me. I'm back!" I announced. We hugged for a minute before he went back to lunch. I decided to join him, saying hi to the staff as well. After I finished, I went to look for Kiba. Running through the village to his house was a bit tiring, so when I arrived at his doorstep, I was panting. I knocked on the door, which Kiba's mom answered. Catching up with her was a lot of fun, but she caught on really fast when I started shifting on my feet.
"If you're looking for Kiba, he's in the forest," she chuckled. I thanked her before running off again, already knowing which part of the forest he would be in. When I sensed his chakra, I stopped running, hiding my own chakra in order to sneak up on him.
"Kiba," I yelled, jumping on his back and wrapping my arms around him.
"AAAAAHHHHH!" he shrieked, falling on his face.
"Chidori, I missed you!" He got up, turning to hug me back.
"What's been going on?" I asked, still smiling.
"Not much, but what about you? I haven't seen you in, like, forever," he chuckled.
"Not much, I got you a present."
"Really? What is it?" he asked.
"You'll find out," I said running up a tree. "But, only if you can catch me!" I started running slowly so he could catch up.
"Hey, come back here!" I heard him yell.
As I ran, I could feel the wind brush against my arms and blow through my hair. It felt amazing. When I reached a small river, I stopped. Deciding to hide in the water, I jumped in, waiting for Kiba. Three minutes passed and he came running. He paused, probably because my scent stopped. I let a few bubbles of air escape my throat, but apparently not enough for him to notice. He got close enough to the water, and I smirked. "Gotcha!" I yelled, jumping out of the water and pulling him in.
"Very funny," he growled, standing and shaking. Just like a dog.
"Yeah, I know," I smirked.
"So, you wanna show me that present now?" he suggested, wringing out his shirt. I chuckled, putting my hand in my pocket and digging around. I pulled out a crystal wolf, each flat, hand-carved piece shining different colors in the sunlight.
"Wow, this is cool thanks." Another smile adorned his face. "So, I've been wanting to tell you something since you left."
"What?" I asked, tilting my head to the side. Panic suddenly flashed across his face.
"Well...umm...you know, what never mind. I'll tell you later," he said rubbing the back of his neck.
"M'kay, I'm going home and see my dad. You wanna come?" I asked.
"Nah, I'm going home as well," he said and then ran off.
I walked back to my house, opening the door only to find my father sitting at the table reading his book. "Really?" I sighed, disappointed.
"What?" he asked, looking up from his book.
"I thought you would be cooking or something. But I guess I'll have to do it." Defeated, I walked into the kitchen.
"Okay, You cook better than me anyway, so." He shrugged, turning back to his book. I rolled my eyes.
~After making and eating their dinner~
I was finally able to settle down, looking up at the ceiling of my bedroom. Soon, I slipped into darkness, a smile on my face. I started thinking about how happy I was about being home, being able to see my friends. But, whenever I'm here...the nightmares start.
(A/N: Yay, more nightmares! Fun, fun, fun! Anyway, I hope you all are doing good and are having great days, bye!)
