When we arrived at the house, Chidori went straight to her room. I had meant to ask her about her nightmares before, but I forgot with the exercise this morning. "Hey, Chidori!" I called.

"WHAT?!" she yelled.

"Get your butt over here, young lady!" I yelled back.

She walked over, placing her hands on her hips. "What's up?" she asked.

"What were those nightmares about?" I asked, crossing my arms.

"Nothing of importance, now." I sighed.

"I know you're lying, you don't scream over nothing, Chidori. I know you, you are my daughter," I stated, taking a step forward.

"Look, it's not a big deal. There are worse things than nightmares that could happen in my life, don't worry about it," she insisted, patting my shoulder.

"Fine, but I will find out, I always do," I warned. She nodded and went back to her room. I sighed again. Kids.

I sighed, scurrying up the stairs and  launching myself into my bedroom. My dad was going to find out, I knew that, but why did he have to go poking his nose where it doesn't belong? He loves me, I get it, but they're just nightmares.
I did a double take after walking by my window, noticing Kiba walking beside my house. I opened the window, calling out to him. "Hey!"

Kiba stopped walking and began looking around. When he spotted me, he waved and walked up so he was lined up with my window. "Hey," he said, waving. I motion for him to move aside, allowing me to jump from my window and onto the street below. When I steadied myself, Akamaru jumped into my arms. Petting him, he snuggled under my neck and barked at Kiba.

"So, what's up?" he asked, hands buried in his pockets.

"Not much, my dad is just being a bit nosy," I sighed, shrugging my shoulders.

"Ah, You wanna come to my house?" he asked, facing me with his signature pointy toothed smile. Smiling back, I nodded, and we made our way to his house.

We got to his door and he placed a finger to his lips, asking me to be quiet. I carefully twisted the knob of the door and guided it open when,"Where have you been!" Kiba's mother yelled.

He flinched. "I brought Chidori!" he yelled. We walked further into the house, seeing her in the kitchen. When she noticed me by Kiba's side, she smiled and patted me on the head.

"Dinner will be ready soon, you two go into Kiba's room." And so we did.

"So, what's been up with you?" I asked, looking around.

"Not much. I passed the test, so I'm a genin." He smiled, feeling pleased with himself.

"Congrats." I gave him a closed eyed smile. I saw a small picture of Kiba and myself together when we were about five."Oh, hey, I remember when we were little and you had a crush on me," I started to laugh.

"Yeah, and you turned me down hard when I asked you to be my girlfriend," he grumbled, but he was still smiling.

"Don't tell me you're still sad about that," I chuckled, rolling my eyes.

"Whatever, we were just kids, so it doesn't matter." He shrugged.

"Whatever we were just kids so it doesn't matter." I shrugged. It really didn't matter to me anymore, but at the time it did hurt. Chidori was my best friend, we'd been friends for the longest time.
