Nina

I could not contain the smile that announced itself to morning before my eyes did. I was as if bathed in a ocean of bliss, my body feeling tingling and sore, which I welcomed without regret.
Running my fingers through the soft fur of the rug, I stretched out my limbs opening my eyes to find Mckayla dimming the level of heat coming from the fireplace. The fire danced off of Mckayla's ivory toned skin, luminous and all I wanted now was her over me again. A thin blanket covered most of my body and half of Mckayla's lower half as she sat up a foot from my reach.
Her breasts were exposed along with the slender tone of her shoulders down to her abdomen. The scars at her back were exposed openly to me from the angle she sat and I felt hate stir inside me long enough to remind me of the pain we suffered six months ago. I wanted her again. "Come lay back down with me." I patted the floor beside me. She seemed to be lost in thought. "Mckayla..."

Her head shifted my way. "Hmm..." I narrowed my brows and she sighed. "Sorry...just, thinking."

I smiled cheekily. "I gathered that."
Mckayla scooted back my way and I wrapped my arm around her waist pulling her further into me. She leaned down against the laying against the floor on her back as I moved over her. I closed my eyes smelling in her scent and blew out before hovering my lips over her own. My hand slipped up to Mckayla's abdomen and then further up to her breast kissing her softly, the vibration of moans reeling out of me.
"The pack is calling for us," Mckayla said.

I pursed my lips giving that some thought. "Does it seem urgent?" She shook her head and I kissed her again. "Than they can wait."

We'd made love again finally deciding to head back. The moment we arrived, Mckayla was ambushed with Alpha business and I was ambushed with lower pack business.

"Why were you two drinking in the first place?" Rachel yelled at Sara trying to avoid her mate. Sara followed after Rachel which ended them up in my path. Great.

"You think the feeling of knowing you were in danger and unable to go after you didn't make me go fucking crazy one bit?"

"I know...babe. I was careless," Sara snarled. I could tell Sara was more angry at herself than at Rachel's yelling. I could also see that Rachel was use to running into danger and now not able to especially when her mate was in trouble, freaked her out.

"Nina...is there a reason why you two went off getting drunk last night?" Rachel asked.

"No," I said, trying not to sound annoyed or get in the middle of their argument. "Rachel..." I held onto both sides of her shoulders. She looked highly stressed. "You need to relax. Your hormones are just heighten. In four months those pups will come and you'll be able to flip out."

Rachel narrowed her eyes at me, sighed, than grinned after a moment. "I am only having one...far as I know."

"Well..." I chuckled at her conclusion.
"We don't have babies like humans. We have shorter pregnancies like our wolf's biology allows us and can have a higher chance of conceiving more than one at one time."

"Well..." Rachel mocked..."not me."
I snorted.

Laurie walked over with a plate of food for me. "I made breakfast."

"Eggs...bacon..." I smiled. "Lots of bacon." I reached over grabbing the plate and wrapping my arm around her shoulder with my free arm. "Thank you sweetie."

She smiled shyly. "I would have made Mckayla some...but she doesn't eat regular food so..."

"Thank you." I kissed her cheek. "She would have appreciated it."

By the mention of her, Mckayla walked over to me leaving Bran off to the side.

"Hey..." Mckayla expression tighten though it appeared she tried to put on a smile for me I wasn't buying. "What's wrong now?" Could we ever get a break or at least take a raincheck on our list of problems.
