The taste and smell intoxicated every nerve in my body. I had the shakes thinking about it. Any time I sat down my thoughts went back to the blood.

"I heard you were back." Sean sat beside me with a friendly grin. The last four days I had been creating shelter to more Weres than expected who needed a home. Over a fifty Weres came to me with no place to go and another two hundred joined my pack having their own homes to head back to.

I assigned a few Weres to be my Betas, leading other Weres in locations of Arizona. It was a secure way of keeping everyone inline and safe. I held reign as Alpha over all and the knowledge that my State was finally being taken care of elated me.

"You've changed," Sean added onto his first statement.

I nodded. "We all have changed."

"Not the way you have." Sean bumped his shoulders into mines. "You look good with fangs."

I shook my head, "still the big teaser you always was."

"Of course." Sean sighed. "I'm really sorry about what happened the night..."

"My father, is old news," I cut his words off. Know need to have him feeling pity or anything remotely to that.

"Yeah...but..."

"We need to talk." Rogue came up with an attitude that I found offensive and challenging. Every step she took was loud and in a threatening motion.

I stood with a strong demeanor to match. "Don't interrupt me--"

"And don't--"

"Rogue..." Cormic butted in.

Rogue closed her eyes looking back up to me. Whatever her intentions were she held restraint with a softening new presence.

"I'll...be in the house." Sean stood leaving us alone.
I walked further from my house with Rogue and Cormic trailing me.

"Rogue...now is not..."

I lifted my hand up. "Cormic. Please give us a moment."

He nodded without further word and left.

"You have a problem with me being here you can just ask me to leave." Rogue took the first opportunity in saying exactly what she felt.

My heart pounded against my chest as hard as my hybrid paced inside me. There was a time when Rogue was all I cared about, ignoring my past here with my reborn pack. Besides minor arguments, we always held the best intentions for each other. Time clearly took notice in passing between us and though my love for her would never end, the words that came out of my mouth slipped out anyway. "I would like you to leave."

I could see through Rogue's eyes she hadn't expected me to say that. I was surprised with myself, afflicted with my reasons for her leaving. I knew why and at this point, I think she knew too.

Rogue inhaled slowly, dropping her head low. "I felt your anger the moment we left that house. I should have never questioned your love for Nina."

Grimacing, because despite the fact that she was now about to leave I still cared for her. I cupped one side of her face, Rogue closing her eyes to my affection. "I think we both know why you have to leave...for now..." Rogue never commented. "This isn't forever. I'll see you in like two days. Besides, I was always supposed to ask you and Cormic to join my pack."I

Rogue shook her head, backing away. "Kayla...I don't need you feeling sorry for me."

"Who said I was feeling sorry for you?" I waited for her to lift her eyes to me than continued. "My life is barely making sense. You help make sense for me. My relationship with Nina, it's weak right now. I just can't have anymore complications until things get to where they need to be."
