I wasn't really fond of Mackenzie before and I'm really not now. "Leah I'll hit you up later." It's not my fault her "husband" lied to her. I would be petty and walk out smiling hard as hell but I actually feel bad. But at least she gets to feel an ounce of my pain of taking someone's word, never second guessing it but it turns out to be a lie. Welcome to my damn world. I leave out the house and head over to the mall.I've been talking to Ty a lot here lately. His supposed to be meeting me here. He's a really good, cute friend. He pulls up in a crisp white Benz. "Nice ride." "It's a rental. I gotta look fly." I laugh, "Sure it is." He owns his own grocery store chain and swears he's broke. "It is... Check the tag." "Alright Ty."
"Shopping on you today right?" "Yeah if we go to the dollar store." "Damn Aleah. Broke ass but you cute. Put yo ass on a corner and let's see how far you get." I cut my eyes at him and he starts laughing, "Chill ma I was joking." We continue walking through the mall and walk inside a few stores.
"Keep playing and you'll be in this mall by yourself." "Lighten up. Don't take life so seriously all the time." "I don't." "You've been pretty serious since I've met you." "Wasn't always this way." "Well I didn't do it." Ty says laughing. "You're right you didn't just your kind." He laughs, "What the hell am I? What you mean my kind? Wait what hell happen, I need to know that first."
"Well..." I spill the entire story. "Damn girl!" "I know amazing right?" I say with sarcasm. "You loyal as hell shawty and I like that shit." I smile, "Thanks Ty." "No problem but you gotta remember shit happens ma. Also everyone doesn't have the same heart as you so you can't expect them to do something just because you would be willing with no hesitation to do it for them. No matter what the relationship is." Well damn that's real.
"It still hurts." "I know and it's going too. You have to give things time to pass but you can't hold on to the shit." "You're right." "I know it's one of my best qualities." I laugh, "Okayyyy sure." "Well most of the time." "I'll keep that in mind. Are you ready to go? Got me being sentimental and shit in the mall." "I ain't even bought nothing yet." "Thought you were broke." He laughs, "Oh yeah."
After Ty buys some shoes we leave the mall and head to some restaurant. I look from my menu and at Ty. "What?" "I didn't say nothing." "You were looking so I assumed." "Never assume you make an ass of yourself." He says some of the most oddest things. "Well then." "You've never heard the phrase before?" "Nope." "That explains the look on your face."
My phone starts ringing, "Yeah?" It's August. "Where you at?" "I'm out right now. What's up?" "Out with who?" "August how can I help you?" "I was going to see if you and mama wanted to go out for dinner." "Oh maybe she does but I'm doing that now. Thanks for the offer. Mackenzie isn't feeding you now?" I ask laughing. "Chill Aleah." "Hey I only asked a question." "You out with that guy?" "Later Aug." "Aleah stop-" I hang up.
We order our food and continue to talk. Ty actually inherited his stores from his grandfather when he passed. He's been running them for a few years now. His grandparents raised him and he still visits his grandma anytime he can. He doesn't know his real parents. He's had a pretty normal childhood like myself. When he was 18 he got arrested for sneaking out in his grandfathers truck. I found that funny.
"This was fun Ms. Aleah." "I agree we should link up more." "We should as friends and all cuz you ain't looking for a nigga and I ain't look for a bitch." "Your never letting that go are you?" "Never." We both laugh. We pull up the red light and I look over and see Raevyn.
"I'll be back." "Aleah you can't just jump out-" I can't hear nothing else he says. "Rae!" "Aleah??" "Yeah it's me." "You look so pretty! When did you get out?" "A few weeks ago girl. What you doing?" "Trying to get something to eat and make it back to this house in time." I look back at Ty who's pulled up in the parking lot. "Sure Aleah." I smile, "Come on Rae we got you."
We get inside the car. "Raevyn this is Ty. Ty this is Raevyn." "It's nice to meet you." "It's nice to meet you too. I just knew I would you with August." "Girl don't go there." "What you thinking of little miss Mackenzie?" I roll my eyes, "I've seen better." "You hating Leah?" Ty asks laughing. "No just not who I pictured him with." "Well true." Raevyn says. "You've seen Angelique lately?" I ask. "Nope. How is she?"
"She's beautiful." "Aw. I've been meaning to go by there but time gets by me." "She misses you a lot." "I miss her too... I've tried reaching out to August but maybe I have an old number." "I'll get you a number to reach them at." "If Mackenzie lets him." "Girl fuck her." "Aleah be nice." Ty says. We get Raevyn some good and then back to the halfway house in time.
"Girl it was good seeing you." "Thanks boo. It was good seeing you. We need to hang." "I'm down." "It was nice meeting you Ty." "You too Raevyn." Once he drops me off to the mall to pick up my car. "I'll see you later." "Will you?" I ask. "Yeah what you- oh girl bye." I laugh, "I didn't do a thing." "It's what you were implying." "Or was it what you were thinking." "Call me once you make it home." "I will."
