A few weeks later...

"Mackenzie." "Yeah?" "Can you bring me my phone off the table please?" "I guess." She still isn't talking to my ass. I know I should cleared up that shit but I didn't have time to go through same shit I went through with every other girl questioning shit. She brings my phone in the office. "Here." "Thank you." "Yeah."

I pull her down to my lap. "August let me go." "No Mackenzie." I kiss on the back of her neck. She laughs, "Stop and let me go." "You forgive me?" "No." "Well I don't plan on stoping until you do." I sit her on my desk and moving to her neck. "August the girls are in the living room. "So.. It's sound proof in here." "Alright I forgive you.... Why didn't you say anything the first time? It's not like you were in love with the girl." I lift up and look at her.

"It's a lot. Aleah is very special to me. We grew up together. She's been my best friend for years Kenzie. We got a different type of relationship." "Clearly you too do if she's in love with you."  "Well I was too once upon a time baby." Mackenzie moves my hands, "How do you expect me to feel comfortable with that?" "Baby I wouldn't do anything to jeopardize us. You trust me right?" "Yeah." "Alright then."?Hell the real question is do I trust my damn self Seeing Aleah with ol boy makes me feel some type of way.

"Daddy Amina won't us into the room." Amaya says coming inside the office. Amaya has adjusted well to us and literally blends right on in. She didn't hesitate to start calling us mama and daddy. "Tell Amina to open the door." "But daddy I'm getting dressed!" Amina yells. "Let us  in!" Angelique yells. "Mina open the door." "Ugh." "Amina make me come in there." "Well I'll be tending to our children. You have work to get ready for right?" Mackenzie says moving. "Yeah." "Alright later." "Kenzie I love you." "I love you too August."

Before work I ride over to my mama house. I need to talk to Aleah, do something to clear my conscious. "Hey baby." "Hey mama.. Leah here?" "Yes she's in her room with a friend." "What friend?" "A guy... Ty... I think that's his name." This must be the same nigga she been around. I look up and see Aleah walking in, laughing. "I'll see you Friday Leah." "Later Ty." She walks him out and then comes back in.

"Why are you here?" "Ride with me." "For what August? We aren't friends." "Aleah don't be that way. It's been almost a month since you've been home." "Mama we don't have anything to say to each other. He's moved on with his life I'm going to do that same." "August can give you job at his club, you were just talking about finding some work." "I'd rather jump from a 50 story building than work for him." "Aleah!" "Fine but I'm not doing anything that requires me to look at your face the entire night."

I walk out the door and Aleah follows behind. We get inside with her slamming my door, "Don't slam my shit." She looks over at me, "I already really don't want to be here so please spare me on saying anything to me." "Why you here then? This wouldn't have been the first time you ain't did what she told you to do." "Nigga." "Nigga what?" She doesn't say anything, "That's what I thought."

We get over to the club. "Hello Mr. Alsina." "What's good?" I walk over to the bar, "Would
you like a drink?" I ask Aleah. "No." I look at her. She's dyed her hair a brown blonde color. It fits her. "You sure?" "I'm positive." She sits down on the stool and shifts around a little, "Uncomfortable?" I ask throwing back a shot. "No." We get up and head to my office.

"You've been on my mind since I found out you were home." I say sitting down in my chair as she sits across from me. "August save it. I wasn't on your mind for years until then I don't want to hear it now." "What's up? What's the deal man... If you're mad just say it." "Yes NIGGA I'm mad! I assumed the guy who said he's wait for me would actually keep his fucking word." "Aleah you told me I live my life." "But I didn't say create one without me in it."

I sigh. "What you want me to do?" "I don't want you to do anything August." "I need you let this go." "I can't August... Believe me I tried." "Aleah I have a wife and children now." "Don't keep reminding me of the shit August! I know what you have and what you had." I get up and sit on the sofa. "What did I have?" She looks at the ground, "August I..." The office door opens, "Aye boss Charlie wants to know if you can check out the girls for tonight."

"I'm talking right now I'll do it later. Tell Charlie I made him manager for reason get on his job. I trust his judgement." "Alright damn she pretty." "Nigga go." The door shuts. "What were you saying Aleah?" "Nothing August." Man what is it gone take for this girl to talk to me. "Okay then."
We sit there in silence. "So uh what did you want to do?" "What?" "Working here..."

"Oh I don't know. What you think I'll be good at?" "Maybe one of the ladies at the door?" "Nah..." "Well everything else is full unless you tryna be my personal assistant..." I've been meaning to get one. "Seriously August?" "Yeah strictly business." She mumbles something, "I guess. 18.50 an hour." "Yo ass expensive." We both laugh.

"It'll work though." "Okay cool. Well boss when do I start?" "You can start tonight but I don't need much done except filing some of these papers into the cabinet." "Alright cool." She starts filing the papers and I just sit back and watch her. Crazy how you think you got shit all figured and planned until that one person pops up and makes you rethink all the shit.
