"Baby I'm really starting to worry." I'm sitting at the house. It's almost been a whole day since I've heard or seen my mama. We called the police but they have a 48 hour rule. I've tried calling August but no answer. I even called Mackenzie and she hasn't heard anything either.
"It's going to be okay baby. We'll find her." He says coming up behind me. When he wraps his arms around me like this I always feel so safe and secure. He kisses the back of my neck. "I don't have a good feeling about this at all." I tear up and move away from Ty. "Where you going baby?" "I just need a moment." I lock the bathroom door and slide down. I hate crying in front of people. I know he met me crying but still.
The worst is going through my mind right now. The one person who I know would understand how I'm feeling isn't picking up the damn phone. That's just like his ass not to be around when it matters the most. I can't believe of all the times he decides to not talk to me, it's now. "Baby you alright in there?" I get up and cut the water on. I grab a napkin and wipe my face. "Yeah I'm okay."
I go into the bedroom and lay down. Ty walks in and lays beside me. I turn around and face him. "Did you hear anything from August?" "No and I don't know where he is. Mackenzie only said he was out of town." "Damn." He wraps his arms around me as I lay my face in his neck. To be held is all I want right now. "How much longer do we have?" "12 more hours." Ty says. "Damn man." "Baby don't stress it. Just hope for the best. Maybe she decided to do a last minute vacation."
I want to believe it was something as simple as that but this gut feeling I have says otherwise. Nine times out of ten my gut feeling is always right. Maybe in some crazy bizarre way Ty is right. "I swear I could use a blunt right now." I lay there, never getting a response from Ty. I begin to hear light snoring. He's out like a light. I reach over and turn the light off. My phone vibrates, I grab it and see its a message from Angelique,
:Get over here fast.!:
"Babe... Baby..." I say shaking Ty. "Hm?" "We have to go over Mackenzie's. It's something wrong." We jump out of bed and throw some clothes on rushing over to the house. Once we get there it's police cars everywhere. "What the hell happened?" "Look there Angelique." Ty says pointing to the left.
"Aleah!" Angelique runs over to me. "What happen Angelique?" "Mackenzie just went crazy on us. She started screaming and yelling and my mama walked in and they started fighting and they're both gone Aleah." She says all in one breath. "Breathe baby breathe. Where did they go?" I ask. "My mama shot Mackenzie then she shot herself." My heart drops to the bottom of my stomach. "Where are Amaya and Amina?" "Waiting for the ambulance people to look at them."
"Go ahead." Ty says holding Angelique. I walk over to the ambulance. "Aleah!" Amina says with tears running down her face. "It's okay Mina. Stop crying." I rub her hair as she cries on my shirt. Amaya is just sitting there, I know that look. I sit my hand on her shoulder. She cracks a smile at me. "Aleah have you talked to my daddy?" Amina asks. "No I haven't baby girl Ive been trying to call him." Amaya hugs me and Amina joins in. "I'm so sorry for being bad." Amina says.
"What do you mean baby?" "I wanted ice cream and mommy wouldn't take me to get any and she started yelling and screaming. Angelique came in and asked what was wrong and mommy was still yelling then another lady saw her and started hitting mommy." She breaks down. I can't understand anything else in between her sobs. The paramedics come over and starts checking the girls for anything.
"Alright girls lets go." I say once they're done being checked out. "Excuse me ma'am who are you?" "She's my daughter and she's my God daughter. I'm their father best friend." "May I see some I.D?" I reach inside my purse and pass it to the guy. "Okay. Thank you. It's just procedure." "It's not problem." "I need you sign these papers saying we're realizing the children in your custody. Please include all of your contact info." "Okay."
Once I'm down filing out the form, we load up and leave. The house was still a crime scene so they were only able to give us a few things out of the girls room. I try to call August again and no answer. Damnit! What the hell is he doing? I try calling my mama again. No answer. I peak into the guest room and see the girls sleeping soundly. I lightly shut the door and walk into the room to a half sleep Ty.
"You alright baby?" He asks. "I'm okay." "Your lying." He says leaning up. "This is a lot of shit baby for them to handle and that scared looks on their faces. I feel sad and I just wish it was something I could do. August ass still isn't answer and I don't understand why." "Come here." I get over to him and he pulls me down into bed. "We're going to get through this. Tomorrow we're going to go to the police station, we'll get thing situated with the girls until Aug gets back."
"Do you promise everything will be okay?" "I can't do that baby but what I can say is whatever happens I'm right here with you." They say actions speak louder than words and so far Ty actions have been genuine, sincere, and there just when I need them most. Just his presence alone sends a calm through my bod. He makes my heart flutter and a smile is always on my face. He promises to be there and he has been. "I love you Ty."
