Chapter 26

Jason and I have been married for a couple of months now and have had a great time.  Aurora gets bigger every day and Lucas stays with us every other week.  Our life is wonderful and we spend as much time as possible together.  Lately though, Jason has been staying late at school because it's the time of year when the English students have to write their ten page essays and he stays to grade them so he doesn't have to bring them home.  Which I love about him.

I dropped off Aurora at Barb's so I could spend lunch with Jason.  Barb is always happy to babysit any of the grandkids.  I went to the school and signed in at the office and walked down to his classroom.  The door was closed and the classroom window shades were open.  I peeked inside to make sure he wasn't busy before I went in.  He was busy, very busy.  Sitting on top of his desk was a very skinny, blond wearing a halter top, high heels and a short skirt pushed up to her hips with my husband's face between her thighs.

How could he do that?  It's not like he doesn't get any with me.  My God we go at least 3 rounds every day.  I watched for a few minutes but neither of them realized I was there.  I went home without saying a word to him and sat on the couch thinking of how to handle this.  I could ignore it and pretend it never happened.  Or I could confront him about it.  Our marriage is perfect in my mind.  I see no problem with it.  I guess he does though.

When Jason came home around 6, dinner was made, Aurora had her bath already and was playing in her bouncy seat.

"Hey Lucy, I'm back." I heard him scream from the door way.

"Dinner's ready."  He leaned in to kiss me but I backed away.

            "What's wrong?"

"Nothing, I ugh... just had some garlic bread."  He didn't respond to that.  "Dinner's on the table and Aurora's ready for bed.  Whenever you feel like putting her in her crib is fine by me.  I'm gonna head to bed.  I'll see you when you come up there."

"Lucy, something is wrong, what is it?"

"Jason, I'm just really tired.  Can you please take care of Aurora?"

"Of course, I'll be up soon."

When I went to the bedroom I changed into some sweatpants and a t-shirt and crawled in bed with the image of what I saw today still in my mind.

I did the same thing the next day, to spend some time with Jason during his lunch and she was there again.  And again the day after.  Four days in a row she was sitting there on his desk touching him like he does me when he comes home.

There is no way I could take this anymore.  I'm tired of having the same image of her with my husband all the time in my brain.  Finally on Friday, I had enough courage to do what I didn't want to do.  I had to leave Jason.  No matter how much it hurt.  Unless he had a very good excuse, and there is none.
