Emmy sat on her couch with her little sister, already dressed for her date. She was wearing a pair of dark blue jeans, a light green sheer shirt, and sandals.

“Emmy guess what?” Honor asked as she practically bounced in place.

“What?” Emmy replied.

“No, you have to guess,” Honor whined.

“Fine, I don’t know you made an A on your math test,” Emmy shrugged.

“Well, yeah but that wasn’t what I wanted you to guess about. So try again you have one more chance,” Honor told her.

Emmy rolled her eyes at her little sister as she checked her phone 7:15, Tyler should get to her house in about fifteen minutes.

Honor poked her older sister, “Guess Emmy guess!” she whined.

“Fine, I don’t know you like spaghetti now,” Emmy said.

“Eww, no I’m going on a date with Robert tonight!” Honor squealed.

“Going where?” Emmy asked knowing there weren’t many places for fourteen year olds to go at almost eight on a Friday.

“To the game, his mom is taking us and she’s going to sit a few rows behind us, but still it’s my first real date,” Honor grinned happily.

“That’s great,” Emmy told her sister and she believed it too.

“I know,” Honor smiled.

The doorbell rang and both sisters jumped up as they each thought it was their date. Their mother who was in the kitchen was the one who opened the door.

“Emmy your date is here,” their mother called out.

“Bye Honor,” Emmy grinned as she ruffled her little sister’s hair.

“Stop it!” Honor whined before marching upstairs to fix her hair.

Emmy laughed at her sister’s antics before she walked towards the front door. Tyler stood just inside their house talking to her mother he was dressed in a blue short-sleeve collared shirt and khakis. They both turned to her as she walked into the hall.

“Hey Emmy you look pretty tonight,” Tyler told her as she walked over to his side.

Emmy smiled, “Thanks you look good too,”

Her mother grinned at the pair of them, “Have fun you two, be back by 11:30.”

“I’ll have her back before then,” Tyler told her mother grinning.

“Alright well, be safe,” Her mother told them.

“Ok mom,” Emmy said as she and Tyler walked over to his car.

Tyler politely opened Emmy’s passenger side door. Emmy smiled at him and said thanks as she slid into the car. Tyler hurried around the car and got into the driver’s seat. He started the car and slowly backed out of her driveway.

“So where are we going?” Emmy asked him.

“I thought we could go to the fair the next town over,” Tyler suggested.

“That sounds like fun,” Emmy told him.

“Yeah, and they also have a band playing there tonight if you’re interested,” Tyler told her.

“What kind of music?” Emmy questioned genuinely interested.

“Country,” Tyler said.

“Maybe we can check them out, are they well known?” Emmy asked him.
