“So how was the date?” Summer questioned excitedly during lunch the following Monday.
“What date?” Kara and Mia asked in unison.
Emmy groaned quietly to herself the past weekend wasn’t great at all. Ian had spent the entire weekend trying to get her to come over so he could apologize. Her sister wouldn’t shut up about how happy her relationship with Robert was. It didn’t sit well with Emmy that her fourteen year old sister was doing better in the relationship department than she was. Even though she didn’t want to admit it she missed sleeping with Ian, and that made her feel like a slut.
“Alright, we decided we were better as friends,” Emmy shrugged as she slipped vanilla pudding into her mouth.
“Aww, I thought y’all would be great together,” Summer said before shrugging as if to say oh well.
“What about you Mia how was your date with Trevor?” Emmy asked wanting the conversation to turn away from her and her life.
“Ok,” Mia muttered as she ate some of her baby carrots.
“What happened you don’t sound like you like the guy?” Summer asked confused.
“He was a world class jerk,” Kara hissed.
“What do you mean?” Emmy frowned.
“He was using Mia to make his ex jealous,” Kara spat.
Both Summer and Emmy’s eyes widened, “No he didn’t!” they exclaimed in disbelief.
“He did, he introduced me to her because she works at a booth at the fair. And she flipped out on me cussing me out in both English and Spanish. It was embarrassing and she says she wants him back and they start making out in front of me. I mean who does stuff like that?” Mia said frowning.
“Seriously well how did you get home? I hope you didn’t let him take you back,” Summer asked concerned
“No, she called me and I came and got her,” Kara said.
Emmy’s mind began to whirl she knew that Mia usually went for brunettes but maybe she’d go for a blonde. She didn’t know much about Tyler, but she didn’t think he would mind dating a Latina. She tuned back into the conversation a grin on her face.
“I guess we won’t be eating at Sammy’s Pizzeria anymore,” Summer said with a pout.
“Trust you to only think about the food Summer. But Mia I think you and Tyler would be good together,” Emmy told her smiling.
“Tyler, really why besides I don’t think he’d go for me,” Mia said.
“And why not?” Emmy asked her.
Mia shrugged, “I don’t know I mean Trevor didn’t like me.”
“Aww, come on Mia don’t let one bad guy get you down,” Kara told her.
“Ok you’re right,” Mia nodded.
“Cool, I’ll tell him he should come talk to you, y’all would make an adorable couple, besides he said he’s really artsy,” Emmy told her.
“Really!” Mia exclaimed happy that someone was as much into the arts as she was.
“Yeah, really,” Emmy grinned.
“Cool, so you’ll introduce us?” Mia asked happily.
“Yeah, today after school,” Emmy promised.
