Emmy woke the next day to an empty bed. She sat up and heard the noise of Ian’s shower running, and she figured he had gone to take shower. Emmy reached over and grabbed her phone checking the time 12:15. Emmy reached onto the floor and picked up Ian’s discarded shirt which she promptly slid over her head.

Her phone buzzed with a text message and she glanced down at it Honor had texted her: I cleaned your room. Emmy replied: Thanks, how was your date last night? Instead of getting a reply Honor called Emmy.

“Hey Honor,” Emmy said after she answered the phone.

“Hey Emmy, last night was the best night of my life!” Honor exclaimed excitedly.

“Really, what did you do?” Emmy asked her.

“We ate a pepperoni pizza and we talked and afterwards he kissed me!” Honor squealed.

“He did, so you got your first kiss?” Emmy asked happy for her little sister.

“Yeah, and it was great!” Honor told her emphatically.

“I bet it was,” Emmy agreed.

“So who is this friend that you stayed with last night?” Honor questioned.

“Just someone I know from school,” Emmy replied as she heard the shower cut off.

“Do I know them?” Honor asked.

“Nope,” Emmy told her as the door to the bathroom began to open.

“Ok, well goodbye Emmy see you later,” Honor said happily.

“Bye Honor,” Emmy replied hanging up as Ian stepped into the room.

“Hey, I didn’t know you were awake,” Ian said looking surprised at her.

“I just woke up,” Emmy said with a shrug.

Ian nodded before he dropped the towel that was hanging low on his waist and walked over to his closet. Emmy watched his nude body with interest. Ian pulled on some boxers, a pair of khaki shorts, and a light green short sleeved polo . He ran a hand through his wet blonde hair before turning to face Emmy.

“Are you hungry?” Ian asked her.

“Yeah a little,” Emmy told him with a shrug.

“You want to go get something to eat?” Ian questioned her as he walked over to his dresser and slipped on his watch.

Like a date, were the words that almost came out of Emmy’s mouth instead she said, “Yeah sure.”

“Cool well I’ll be downstairs while you get ready,” Ian told her as he slid his feet into his sneakers and left the room.

Emmy hopped off his bed and grabbed her dark blue sundress from her bag along with a clean bra and underwear. She headed into his bathroom and turned on the shower. Emmy stood in the shower after washing her body wondering if going to lunch could be classified as a date with Ian. Yet, Emmy knew that wasn’t the truth because every time she broached the topic about her and Ian being more than just sex buddies he would shoot her idea down. Instead Emmy decided to just go with the flow and hope for the best. She got out of the shower and quickly dressed, deciding to let her hair air dry.

Emmy hurried down the stairs and into the kitchen where Ian sat. He was eating an apple and playing with his phone.

Ian looked up as Emmy walked into the room, “Are you ready to go?” he asked her.
