Ch. 32
"You're doing really great! Better than any other patient we've had with your same conditions." Said my therapist. (The same therapist I had before.)"Well, that's great! When can I leave?" I asked anxiously.
"Well, since you're doing great, you could leave right now, if you have a parent or guardian."
I mouthed the word "shit."
"I don't have a parent or guardian, do you think my boyfriend can sign?" I asked hoping he'd say yes.
"I'm sorry Shailey, you have to have a parent or guardian." He said with a sad face.
"Dang. Why not? He's here everyday, you know him so well." I said argumentatively.
"It's different this time." He said. "This is for you to be released and someone needs to be here."
I threw my hands in the air and grunted. I walked back into my room. I grabbed my phone and called Noah."Hello?" He answered "what's up Shay?"
"They won't let me out of the hospital because I don't have a guardian." I said
"I have an idea. I could dress up like your grandpa. I can borrow some clothes from my friend's dad, I'm actually at his house right now. I'll just tell him it's and emergency." Noah said.
"I don't know if that will work, you don't look anything alike. You'll have to have a face mask and brown hair or something. But it's worth a shot." I said laying on my bed upside down.
"Alright. Be there in 1 hour." He said. "Bye."
"Bye!" I said laughing.
I ran back out to the doctor.
"Wait, wait!!!!" I said "I just got off the phone with my dad. He's coming to release me."
"You said that you have no relatives who are able to come. Didn't your dad pass away?" He asked.
"Did I say dad?" I questioned, covering up how sad I was that he brought that up. "I meant Uh... Uncle. Yeah. Uncle."
"Your uncle is coming to sign all of these papers?" He questioned. "Is he your guardian?"
"Yes, I live with him." I said with a fake smile. "My mom isn't capable of taking care of me."
"Alright." He said unsure of what just happened.
