Meet the Parents Pt. 1

Chapter 39

I got a little nervous for a second, but i trust Noah 100%. The rest of the car ride Noah just talked to me and told me what's been happening at school and with his family. I love the way his eyes light up when he talks about his family, it is totally adorable. I'm so glad he loves his family, he actually talks about them quite a lot. They sound very nice and fun  I wondered when I would get to meet them. I couldn't wait to, actually.

"Babe?" Noah said.

"Yeah?" I answered back.

"I know you've been through so much in these last 6 months, and I wanted to give you something nice to show you how much I appreciate you and how proud I am of you." He said pulling into the parking lot of my favorite store. "So, you can pick out whatever you want from here. Anything at all. My treat."

"Baby, are you serious?" I asked in awe.

"Yeah. I love you, Shay." He said giving me a hug.

"I love you too, but you don't have to do this. For real you really don't." I said backing out of the hug.

"I know. But I want to. Because you mean a lot to me and you deserve this. And I know it's not all fancy and shit but I know you'd like this more than high heels or makeup." He said opening his car door "let's go inside." He got out of the car and hustled over to my door to open it for me. I took his hand and stepped out of the truck. We walked in together and he even held open the door for me. I instantly saw so many things that looked really cool and like my style. Some cool bracelets, t shirts, tank tops, jeans, and necklaces. I oowed and awed at practically everything in the store while Noah followed me around smiling from ear to ear. I picked out two bracelets, one t shirt, two tank tops and this cool black pair of ripped jeans. And I got Noah and I matching necklaces, one said her man and the other said his girl. As we left, I kept thanking Noah over and over for buying me all this stuff. He put the stuff in the back of his truck and started heading back home.

"Shay, I have a question." He said

"Shoot."

"How do you feel about meeting my family?" He asked.

I smiled. It's like he knew I was thinking about it.

"How do I feel about it?" I repeated "I would fucking love to. The way you talk about them had made me been wanting to meet them forever. I cannot wait to meet them actually. They sound amazing."

"Oh good. I'm glad to hear that because...."

"....We're going to meet them right now." I had finished for him.

We both laughed.

"Yes." Noah smiled.

10 horribly sung songs and two deep conversations later we arrived at Noah's. His house was brick and was really nice looking; big fancy Windows and a very beautiful garden filled with flowers of all kinds. Noah pulled into the driveway and looked me in the eyes and said "just be yourself, I know they'll love you." He got out of the car and opened my door for me once again. He grabbed my hand and headed up the stairs to the white porch. He opened the door slowly, I saw his mother was cooking in the kitchen and one of his little sisters was pretend cooking right next to her standing on a chair. "Hi, Mom." Noah said standing in the doorway with me.

"Noah!" She said taking a break from her hard work "ahh and Shailey I presume, Noah never stops talking about how amazing you are." She said taking me in for a hug.

"Hi, it is so nice to meet you." I said smiling real big.

"And you as well." She replied. "I'll just go get Noah's father."

Noah's little sister, Paige, came over to me and Noah. She ran up and gave Noah a big hug he picked her up and twirled her around.

"Paigey, this is Shailey." Noah said holding Paige on his hip.

"Hi Paige." I said "you're very cute."

"Say thank you." Noah had reminded her.

"Thank you." She said. Then she whispered something into Noah's ear.

"Oh, you think?" Noah said looking at Paige "well I happen to think so too."

"What did she say?" I questioned.

"Can I tell her, Paigey?" Noah asked Paige. Paige nodded. "She thinks you're pretty."

"Awe thank you." I smiled.

Noah's mom came back with his father and Noah's other little sister, Paige's twin named Payton. His mother announced that dinner would be ready shortly and that we should all sit in the dining room and chat until it was prepared. Noah introduced me to Payton. She also whispered to Noah that I was pretty. Noah's father seemed to like me, and that was something I wasn't used to...people actually liking me.
