i picked up my phone.

"god noah, where are you?!? i practically yelled through the phone.

"shay, i'm so sorry. i'll explain later. it was really important. i'm on my way back to the party." he said in a rush.

"you left?" i was concerned.

"yes. i'll explain later. i love you."

and with that he hung up.

"what did he say?" jenna questioned me.

"he left the party..and he's on his way back. he'll explain later" i said in a questioning tone. jenna hugged me.

"everything's alright, shay. don't worry anymore." she smiled. shes so beautiful.

at 7.15 i got a call from my mom.

"hello?" i answered

"shailey, where are you?? i told you 7 o'clock." she sounded disappointed in me.

i hit the palm of my hand to my face "i am so sorry mom! there was this party-"

she cut me off "-explain later. get home now, please. i love you." and she hung up.

jenna turned to me and said "everything okay?"

i just rolled my eyes a bit. "yeah. i just forgot about this dinner with my mom and her new boyfriend." i sighed.

"oh, well i can drive you home if Noah can't." she smiled.

"thanks." i said before following jenna to her car.

i texted noah:

i had to leave. forgot about this family dinner tonight. i'll call you asap.

i opened the door to jenna's car and got in. she slid into the drivers seat and started the car.

"where do you live?" she asked. i gave her my address as she typed it into her GPS.

jenna smoothly pulled into my driveway as i thanked her, and practically jumped out of the car and ran inside.

"i'm sorry, i'm sorry, i'm sorry!" i yelled out of breath as i busted through the door. In a matter of seconds, everyone was looking at me. 'great first impression, shailey' i thought to myself. "i'll just go upstairs to change..." i said awkwardly, dragging myself up the stairs.
