Chapter 38

Noah looked down at me and smiled. He kissed my head and put his hand on my back. I wanted him so bad in the moment. But, he wasn't ready, and I respected that.

We all just sat together watching tv, laughing and having a good time. I was actually happy, genuinely happy. I never thought this could happen. After everything I've been through, I actually had a family again.

I woke up the next morning, not remembering when I fell asleep. I stretched and wiped my eyes, I didn't know what day it was or where I was. Everything was still a little blurry. My vision finally refocused after two or three minutes and I saw I was in my own room. I yawned at few times and glanced at the clock which read: 2:21 pm, I slept the whole day I giggled to myself. I slowly got up from bed and everything went black for a second or two before i regained my vision once again. I walked downstairs and hollered "hello?!?" To see if anyone was around. There was no answer, so I assumed everyone was still asleep. I grabbed a bowl and poured in my cereal then milk. And I thought to myself how strange it would be to pour in my milk then cereal. I thought about it for a while but then began eating my cereal because it wasn't important and I was very hungry.

I was still uncertain about the day, though. I assumed it was Saturday because I'd either be at school or at church. The thought of going back to school scared me; my stomach turned my palms would sweat and the vision of the vicious school hallways replayed in my head. I wondered if I would actually have to go back to school, I mean I'd already missed so much I would never be able to make it up. And homeschool doesn't sound so bad to me. I had no friends at school anymore and everyone hates me so I don't see the point in going back.

Ring ring ring. A phone was ringing. I wasn't sure if it was mine or not but I immediately started looking; I found it under the couch, and it was my phone. And it was Noah. I instantly picked up.

"Hey, Noah!" I had said.

"Hey baby!" Noah said "What are you doing right now?"

"Nothing much. Im almost finished eating breakfast and I was looking for my phone. Why? What's up?" I answered.

"Be ready in 30 I'll be there to pick you up. I love you." He said then he hung up.

I didn't know why or what for but he sounded excited so I was excited. I shoved the rest of my breakfast down and quickly got ready. I left my hair down and put on my 'Panic!' Shirt and some jeans and my bracelets and headed out the door to wait on the front porch. While waiting I was looking at my phone; Twitter, Instagram all that social media stuff. Nothing new about me and I was happy about that. I saw some pictures from people at school, a lot had changed. We had some new transfer students, Celia and Brian broke up, three teachers got fired for having inappropriate relationships with students, and our gym had been remodeled. Celia and Brian though, I wondered what happened but I really didn't care. She betrayed me, she won't ever be my friend again. I had thought to myself.

Noah pulled up and yelled out the window "GET IN!" I quickly hopped in without asking questions. As I was buckling my seatbelt Noah leaned in and kissed my forehead and said "you look absolutely gorgeous today." I blushed a little and grabbed his hand and wrapped my fingers around his. He backed out the driveway and started driving again. The radio was playing one of my favorite songs so I turned it way up and started singing, loudly and terribly. Noah just looked at me and smiled and soon joined it. We sounded like dying cats but we were enjoying it. The song ended and I finally asked "Where are we going?"

"You'll see." Noah grinned and squeezed my hand.
