Evan, the greatest love of my life, was staring at me. Waiting for me to move aside and invite him in. But I couldn't move, it was hard to breath.
'You disgusting whore, you sleep with a criminal and expect to have this godly man to be your boyfriend?' The annoying voice inside my head asked.
I stared at him for what felt like a lifetime, I observed his face. His hair was different, his lips weren't as bright as they used to be.
"Come in." I barely managed to say. It was a pathetic way of saying I feel ashamed for what I've done and now my greedy heart wants you.
I closed the door and turned around to see everyone waiting for something, they probably thought I would jump into his arms. Evan looked at me longingly and I finally gave in. I basically jumped at this opportunity to hug him. I didn't want to let go, I didn't have to say anything and neither did he. Our expressions said it all.
I missed you.
I looked back at my friends who smiled at me, but their eyes weren't smiling. Their eyes were saying sorry because they didn't know that I was in a undetermined relationship with Damian.
After everyone settled down we had dinner.
I sat next to Lucy on my right side and Kate on my left side. Ella, Evan, and Maggie were sitting across from me. Evan directly in front of me.
"So, how was England?" My dad asked Evan. I looked at my dad because he didn't really ask in a friendly way.
"It was beautiful. I really enjoyed living there, met lots of great people. Plus, it was easier to travel around Europe." He added.
"That sounds wonderful. How are your parents doing?" My mom asked.
"Well, they decided to stay there, but I'm not sure if they're ever going to come back. They love it there." He smiled.
"Do they want you to live there?" My mom asked, and I accidentally dropped my fork and it made the loudest sound possible. I mean it was awkward and I cringed my nose because everyone looked at me.
"Sorry." I said quietly.
"Um, not really. I mean, I could if I wanted to. But since I passed my Canadian exams as well as the UK ones. I can Practise law in any country." He explained.
It was quiet again, everyone was eating. It was awkward. Very awkward.
"So how are you ladies doing?" He asked looking at my friends.
"We're good." Lucy said in her sweet voice.
"Great." Kate added.
"Awesome." Ella said with a stuffed face.
"And who's this little one. I don't believe I ever met you before?" He said looking at Ella (junior). He smiled at Maggie.
"This is Ella, you can tell who named her." Maggie said looking at Ella Senior.
"Well, Ella, it's nice to meet you." He said. Then Ella reached out her hand.
"Can I get a high five?" She asked and everyone laughed.
"Of course you can." He said.
Of course, Evan is great with kids. He's making it hard to resist him.
"So have you thought about getting married?" My dad asked. And of course I had to embarrass myself again and choke on my water. I started coughing and my face went red. I looked at Evan and he looked at me surprised.
"Sorry." I said again.
Then Evan clearly couldn't hold in his laughter and began to giggle. Then one by one everyone started. And finally I gave a little embarrassed smile to him.
