"Hey, you ok?" I opened my eyes very slowly to see Ezra. "The girls are getting something to eat, we were waiting for you for a while now." He smiled and held my hand.
"Where's Evan." I was shocked to hear my own voice, it sounded like someone who'd been smoking for ages.
"We'll talk about that later, but your parents are here." He said.
"I don't want to see Dad." I said in the same throaty voice.
"Don't say that. You guys will figure things out. But right now, forget about all of that." He said.
"What time it is?" I asked.
"I think you mean what day is it?" I looked at him confused.
"Was I out for a month or something?" I asked surprised.
He chuckled, "No, you've been out four days. It's Wednesday." He replied.
"Oh." I said. I looked down and the wires were still connected to my body. "I've never been hurt so badly before, you'd think I did but I guess I'm just a really good agent." I smiled.
"You're right." Ezra and I looked towards the door, and I was happy to see that it was our boss Tom Reid. He brought a bouquet of flowers for me and set them on a table near the window.
"Sir!" I smiled. "What are you doing here?" I tried to sit up and Ezra helped by raising my bed so that I could.
"I had to check up on my favourite agent." He said. Sir sat down on the left side of my bed on a stool, and Ezra on my right side.
"I'm fine really." I insisted.
"I know, but I just missed you. Also, I wanted to come and check with you two on how our case is going?" That's when I had a lump in my throat. I really hope that I don't give anything away about liking Damian.
"Well, I'm playing the girlfriend card on him. We're going downtown on Friday to meet with a friend of his for some sort of codes or something to hack into a company's mainframe." I explained.
"Why does he want to do that?" Sir asked.
"He wants to take revenge on the CEO of Athena, it's a company his parents used to work for. They died due to all the stress that came from working long hours, and they were treated unfairly. So Damian was left an orphan." I explained.
"I see." Sir nodded his head. "Where will he be proceeding his plan from?" He asked.
"His basement, he has a secret headquarters and everything. He has weapons and a lot of other gadgets. He claims that he hasn't killed anyone. But he has a lot of enemies." I added.
"Alright, so I will follow up with you two on the weekend. Keep up the good work." He smiled.
After he left, my parents walked in. "How are you?" My mother asked sweetly.
"I'm ok." I replied giving her a closed mouth smile. Dad didn't say anything, he just stood there silently.
Suddenly, my dear friends burst in my room with concerned expressions.
"What were you thinking?"
"How irresponsible!"
"You could've died!"
Ezra had to calm them down before they attacked me. "I'm sorry." I said.
"You better be, do you know how worried we were?" Ella said. "That's it, you're not allowed to drive alone anymore."
"We're taking away your keys." Lucy said with her arms crossed.
"No, mom please don't do that." I said sarcastically and Lucy frowned.
