Chapter 10

"Nadia." My mom knocked on my door.

"I'm coming, I'm coming." I replied in a hurry. I scrunched my curls a little bit so that they'd stay that way. Hopefully the hairspray works.

"You're going to be late." My mom warned.

I opened the door to see my mom with her arms crossed, "Ezra and Lucy live next door." I reminded her.

"I know that, but Kate and Ella are dying to see you now go." She shooed me down the stairs.

"Ok, bye mom bye dad." I waved and walked across my lawn to my neighbours. I was holding a house warming basket, even though they were only living here for this one mission I feel like this would just add to it.

The door opened to reveal a happy Lucy, as always. "Hey!" she gave me a hug.

"Wow," I looked around their home. "This place looks awesome." They're home had a victorian chateau sort of feel to it.

"I know I love it!" she cheered.

"NADS!" Ella came running towards me jumping in my arms.

"Oh my God! You giant!" I laughed."

"I'm so happy to see you, Oh my God." She kissed my forehead and hugged me then looked at me and hugged me again.

I couldn't help but laugh. "What's wrong?"

"I just missed you so much." She smiled. "Now come on, Kate's waiting for you." She pulled me to the kitchen.

"KATE!" I threw my arms wide open and she gave me a hug.

"NADS!" She smiled, "Did you forget about us or something? We haven't seen you in so long."

"You know how my job is. I'm very high in demand you know." I said casually and they laughed.

"Yah, yah. Mission impossible blah blah blah." Ella mocked me.

"You know what Ella?"

"What Nadia?" Sh crossed her arms.

"You're a giant." Everyone laughed and she gasped and smiled in shock. Ella is 5'11 and everyone calls her a giant.

"Well, then you're a teenage mutant ninja." She said back.

"Actually, that's a comliment." I giggled.

"Ok, ok. Dinner is ready girls." Lucy called us all into the dining room where I met Ezra.

"You're place looks amazing Ezra."

"Thank you, designed it myself." He said with pride.

"Ahem." Lucy cleared her throat.

"And, Lucy helped." he added.

"Yah, I designed and you helped." She corrected him.

We all laughed.

After feasting and making fun of Ezra, we all talked about university, careers, etc. "So you two are almost about graduate right?" I asked Ella and Kate.

They both nodded happily, "We're so excited." Ella said.

"Right after we graduate we've already received offers from law firms in Toronto to hire us as Law clerks." Kate added.

"That's great!" I said.

"That calls for a celebration!" Lucy said.

"We should party, I haven't partied in ages." Ezra exaggerated.

"Yah, it's cause you're old." Lucy poked him.

"Um, ouch! You're so mean."

"It's true, hey Ella? Can't you already see the grey roots spurting on his balding head?" They laughed.
