Charlotte's POV
I opened my eye's and looked around. I always woke up early when I slept at daddy's place because this wasn't my bed and it didn't feel right. I loved staying with daddy, I just didn't like this bed.
I rolled over, boy I wish daddy would come home, I missed him, alot and I knew mommy did too. Mommy cried alot, she didn't know I knew because sometimes when she was crying I would hug her and other times I wouldn't because her crying made me cry, so I would go and hide in my bedroom.
I layed there thinking about it, the yelling, I hated the yelling more than anything, but I hated the things daddy would yell at mommy worse, he was mean. The yelling started after Uncle Jimmy died and everyone was sad, I was sad, I loved Uncle Jimmy, he'd always made me laugh, but I wished he'd never died because then maybe there would have been no yelling. I would lay in bed listening to mommy and daddy yelling at eachother, they did it all the time, well when daddy came home, which wasn't all the time and I still remember walking into mommy's room and seeing her packing those bags, daddy's bags.
"I just can't anymore." She cried at me.
I understood, I didn't like it either so I helped her pack those bags and mommy left them at the front door. I remember when daddy came home, there was yelling of course, and I kind of hoped he'd stay, but he didn't, he yelled horrible things at mommy and told her good, he was glad he could leave and he just left.
I was scared I was never going to see him again and I didn't for a few weeks, but boy was I glad when he called me on the phone, I'd missed him.
I threw back my blankets, it was time for me to get in bed with daddy, I always did, we would lay there and talk.
I tippy toed down the hall and opened his door quietly.
"I've been waiting for you." He said smiling.
I ran and jumped on his bed, climbing under the covers and cuddling him.
"Okay daddy." I whispered.
He kissed my forehead.
"Is it time?" I asked him.
"If you want to babygirl." He murmured.
Every time I stayed at daddy's he would ask me about mommy and I would tell him, I liked to tell him about her, I liked to see him smile.
"I want to."
"So how is mommy?" He whispered.
"Sad."
"She is?" I nodded, mommy was always sad. "What has she been doing?"
"She's been working, I think she likes going to the library." Mommy had started working at the library when I was at school.
"She does?" Daddy asked smiling.
I nodded. "She does. Also we go visit with Gran and Grampy alot."
Daddy stopped smiling.
"Mommy misses them." I whispered. I missed Grampy so much.
Grampy had died not long after Uncle Jimmy, one day Grampy was fine and then Aunt Stacey had called and he was dead. Mommy had been so upset, she'd tried to find daddy but he wouldn't answer her calls and when he finally came home they'd had their biggest fight yet.
"I miss Grampy too." Daddy said softly.
"Mommy takes me to their place, and we sit on the bench and she talks to their stones." I felt like crying. "She always tells them how much she misses them." I sobbed. "And she needs them."
Daddy put his hand over his face and I hugged him. "I didn't mean to make you cry daddy."
He wiped his face, then wiped mine. "It's okay Charlotte, sometimes daddy needs to cry."
"Can you please come home?" I asked him, crying again.
"Baby I want that more than anything but I hurt mommy and I don't think she'll forgive me."
"Maybe one day." I whispered.
"Maybe one day." He said. "Anyway, what about your birthday, that's going to be fun right."
"Yes." I giggled. "I can't wait. It's a princess party."
"A princess party for a princess." He told me, kissing my nose.
"You have to dress up daddy." Everyone was dressing up. "I'm dressing up as Princess Jasmine and mommy is dressing up as Princess Aurora, you know, sleeping beauty." I told him.
"What will I dress up as?" He asked me.
"Silly daddy, you can dress up as Prince Phillip."
"And who is he?"
My daddy didn't know much. "Princess Aurora's prince charming."
Daddy smiled. "I like that Charlotte, I like that idea alot."
"Good, now can we have breakfast?"
My tummy was rumbling and I was starving.
