Charlotte's POV

I was sitting at the bench, drinking my milkshake, watching mommy cook and Uncle Josh read the paper.
"She's very good." Mommy said.
"So you keep saying." Uncle Josh said back.
"Stop being stubborn." Mommy snapped, squirting a lot of ketchup into the pan.
I slurped on my milkshake, hoping it would fill me up so I didn't have to eat whatever it was she was making.
"For fuck sake Ana." Uncle Josh yelled. "Just leave it."
I looked at Uncle Josh, he'd used a swear word, and I shook my head.
Mommy was staring at the wall, but I could see she was crying. I didn't want my milkshake anymore, so I pushed it away.
"What time is everyone coming?" Uncle Josh asked quietly.
"Six."
Aunty Sophie, Uncle Brian and the girls were coming over for dinner, apparently they wanted to see Uncle Josh, but I couldn't wait to see Gabby. I still wasn't sure if I liked Uncle Josh or not, I didn't like anyone who made my mommy cry.
"Ana." Uncle Josh said quietly.
I looked at mommy, she was biting her lip, looking sad. I was about to get up and go to her when daddy walked in.
"Ew jesus Ana, what the hell are you cooking?" He asked, walking over to her.
Mommy looked at him, throwing down the spoon. "Cook it your fucking self." She cried.
I reached out grabbing back my milkshake. It seemed everyone was swearing today.
"Hey hey hey." Daddy said, hugging her. "I'm joking."
Only I knew he wasn't. Everyone knew mommy's cooking was horrible.
I glanced at Uncle Josh, raising my eyebrows, he made mommy cry. He poked his tongue out at me and I poked mine out at him.
I looked at mommy and daddy, getting all lovey in the kitchen and I rolled my eye's. Honestly, they never stopped.
"God, can you two stop?" Uncle Josh groaned.
I nodded, I had to agree with him.
"It's all you ever do." He told them.
"Ha." I laughed. "You should see them wrestle." And I slapped my hand over my mouth. I promised daddy I wouldn't talk about that.
"Charlotte." Mommy cried.
"Do I even want to know what she's talking about?" Uncle Josh asked.
"Probably not." Daddy told him, kissing mommy's hair.
"What are you teaching your child?" He asked daddy.
Suddenly the doorbell interrupted us.
"Who's that?" Mommy asked. "It's too early."
"I'll get it." Daddy told her, walking out.
"Ana, I'll see her okay?" Uncle Josh said quickly.
"The therapist? Samantha?"
"Yes."
"Good." Mommy said softly.
I looked at them, wondering what the heck a therapist was, when daddy walked back in, clearing his throat.
"Look who's here." He said.
I looked over to see Aunt Stacey follow him in and I picked up my milkshake, things were going to get interesting.
Uncle Josh got up hugging her and she looked at me. I wasn't hugging her, she was mean.
"You're getting so big Charlotte." She said.
I just shrugged. It was called growing up.
"What can I do for you Stacey?" Mommy asked.
"Can we talk quietly?"
Mommy shrugged. "What about? I'm sure you can say it in front of us all."
"Maybe you should go into the living room babe." Dad said quietly.
"No." Mommy said. "What do you want Stacey?"
I took a big suck of my milkshake, looking between mommy and Aunty Stacey.
"The baby Ana." Aunty Stacey said quickly. "I want to carry your baby."
BABY.
I coughed, spitting milkshake everywhere.
"Charlotte are you okay?" Daddy asked, rubbing my back.
I looked at him, shaking my head. I wasn't. I had milkshake coming out of my nose and I didn't want a baby, not at all. I burst into tears and suddenly mommy did too.
"Matt." Uncle Josh said, scooping me up into his arm's. "I do not know how you do this."
Daddy smiled at him, pulling my mommy into his arm's. "Why don't you and Stacey go into the living room." Daddy told mommy softly.
Mommy wiped her face, nodding and walking off, Aunty Stacey followed her.
"Now tell me what's wrong blossom." Daddy said, taking me off Uncle Josh.
"A baby." I cried. "I don't want a baby."
I heard my daddy chuckle. I don't know what he was laughing at. This wasn't funny.
It wasn't funny at all.
