Ana's POV

"Ana." Matt hissed. "Sit still."
I looked at him with wide eye's. I couldn't, I just couldn't sit still.
"It'll be okay." He murmured kissing me lightly.
I nodded. I wanted to believe it would be okay but I really didn't want to get my hopes up, I didn't want to be disappointed again,
"Hopefully." I murmured.
We were at my specialist. Like I'd promised Matt, I finally made an appointment to discuss our options but I didn't have my hopes up, as much as I desperately wanted another child, I just couldn't see it happening.
"Anastacia Sanders."
I looked up, oh crap, time to go in.
Matt stood up, holding out his hand. I grabbed it and stood up, following him.
"It'll be okay." He murmured once again, pulling me close.
Damn. I wished I could believe him.
"Wait in here, Doctor Smyth will be with you shortly."
Matt and I sat in two seats facing a huge desk. I looked at it, noticing a file. My guess was it was my file, it was thick enough, lord knows I'd had enough problems previously to fill that file.
Matt squeezed my hand as the door opened and the doctor walked in.
"Good morning." He said sitting down. "Matt and Ana, yes?"
I nodded.
"You don't mind if we use first names." He asked. "I'm Graham by the way."
He offered his hand and we both shook it.
"Well Ana." He said opening my file. "You've certainly had a rough time."
I nodded, gripping Matt's hand tighter, I had.
"Ahhh, your daughter, she's seven?"
"She certainly is." Matt answered.
"Kids are just wonderful." He went on. "And if I'm not mistaken you wouldn't mind another?"
"Well yes, but, I mean." I stuttered.
"Well honestly Ana, the door isn't completely shut you know, you have options."
"I do?"
"Of course. I mean there's adoption, but that can take years."
I nodded, I knew that.
"But let's get serious, I mean that's the reason you're here right?"
"Well yes." Matt answered.
"Good, that's what I like to hear. Now Ana." He said shifting in his chair. "Now you had an emergency hysterectomy, but the bonus from this procedure, your ovaries, they're still there." He said smiling.
"Yes." I answered slowly.
"Well, it's simple, we take your eggs, we take your sperm, we fertilize the egg, then we implant it."
Oh for fuck sake, he was trying to make it sound so simple.
"We just need a uterus."
Oh and I think I have one in my handbag, I thought sarcastically.
"You make it sound simple." Matt said.
"Look, I won't lie, it won't be simple, Ana you'll have to have hormones, to produce eggs so we can collect them, Matt." He laughed. "You'll have to jerk off into a jar." Even I smirked at that. "And once the eggs are introduced to the surrogate they have to take. It may take several tries before it happens."
It all sounded so complicated, so hard.
"It's your best chance at another child guys, and I'm thinking positively, I think it will work." He stood up. "So what I want you to do is go make another appointment for next week, think about it and we can go from there."
We both stood up and he shook our hands.
"See you then, and remember, positivity guys."
We followed him out then took his advice, making another appointment, before silently walking to the car, holding hands.
"Well." Matt said, sticking the key in and starting it. "What do you think?"
"Ugh, he makes it sound so easy."
"Yeah he did." He agreed, taking my hand.
"I mean where the hell can I find a uterus? I know Sophie would do it for us but her uterus is currently occupied." I said.
Matt smiled, squeezing my hand. "True, but what about my sister?"
"I couldn't ask that of her Matt, she's busy, she has her own life to worry about."
"Okay babe." He murmured. "We'll work it out."
I nodded, I hoped we could, for the both of us. "We will." Positivity.
"So, we have the afternoon to ourselves." Matt murmured. "Moms not bringing Charlotte back until this afternoon."
"And?" I smiled, turning to look at him.
"And." He whispered, rubbing the inside of my thigh gently.
"Drive faster." I murmured, putting my hand over his as it traveled further up my thigh.
"Who the fuck is that?" Matt asked as we pulled in our street to see someone sitting up on our fence.
"Well." I groaned. "It's either some crazy bitch fan or Sophie kicked Brian out finally."
But as we drove closer we discovered it wasn't either.
Matt hit the control and our gate swung open. Who ever it was jumped down from the fence and looked at us.
"Is that...." Matt asked, but I cut him off.
"Yes." I gasped. "Jesus Matt, yes it is."
I threw my car door open, standing up and looking into the eyes of my brother.
It was Josh.
Finally he was home.
