Just exactly how did Sungmin's feelings for Zhoumi developed? It started out with a school play and since they are in an all boys school, some boys had to act out as girls. Sungmin was chosen to be Juliet and Zhoumi to be Romeo. As they continued to practice for the play, Sungmin was getting too involved with being Juliet and loving Romeo.
When the school play was over, there was no more Juliet or Romeo. Sungmin felt strange because he had gotten used to being close to Zhoumi. The strange feelings that he felt since they started out practicing for the play still remained and would increase triple times with Zhoumi's presence such as seeing him on the hallway or at the cafeteria. That's when Sungmin realized that even though he was acting as Juliet loving Romeo, he probably loved Zhoumi all along.
Should he confess? Sungmin asked the question several times everyday. That question popped in Sungmin's mind again when he and Zhoumi ended up standing right next to each other while looking for books at the library.
"I finally found what I'm looking for." Zhoumi said as he grabbed the book from the shelf. "What are you looking for, Sungmin? Maybe I can help." But Sungmin didn't reply to him. "Um...Sungmin? Earth to Sungmin!!!" He poked Sungmin's forehead.
Sungmin started to blink fast. "Oh!!! Um...th-that's okay...I can look for it myself..." He blushed in embarrassment before looking away and trying to look for the book on the other side of the shelf.
Zhoumi chuckled when he saw Sungmin blush. He remembered how Sungmin blushed and was clearly angry when he knew he was taking up Juliet's role. He remembered how Sungmin or rather Juliet blushed shyly when Romeo was proclaiming his love. He remembered how Sungmin blushed furiously whenever they practice their fake kiss. Their faces would be close to each other and their lips just an inch or two apart. But there was one time when their lips accidentally brushed against each other.
Zhoumi wondered how such a small act could send tingles all over his body. He found himself wanting more. He leaned closer but Sungmin had backed away. That's when Zhoumi started to realize his feelings for Sungmin but at the back of his mind, he had wondered if these feelings were probably because of the play. Perhaps he was getting too much in character of Romeo that he forgot that Juliet, which was played by Sungmin, wasn't even a girl.
Most of the cast members and production crew actually hanged out with each other after the play except for Sungmin and Zhoumi who went to their own separate ways and to their own group of friends. They were in different year levels which also meant their classrooms are in different floors. They also have different clubs, different schedule...so basically they rarely see each other except in common places such as library, cafeteria or hallway. They both thought that seeing less of each other after the play would probably lessen their feelings and fade out eventually but it didn't.
Now, they're both in the library. Both thinking about confessing. Who knows when they might actually see each other again? "Have you found the book that you're looking for?" Zhoumi asked as he transferred to the aisle where Sungmin was currently at.
"Not yet." Sungmin really wanted to confess but he was badly becoming shy and nervous. How could he so shy and nervous like this when he had acted as Juliet and heck, dressed like a girl in front of hundreds of people during the play?!?! He was going to transfer to another aisle but Zhoumi didn't allow him.
"How silver-sweet sounds lovers' tongues by night, like softest music attending ears!"
Sungmin blushed at the words but he also wondered why Zhoumi was suddenly reciting a line from their play.
"I love it when you blush. You look so cute." Zhoumi placed his hand on Sungmin's cheek and started to lean closer. Sungmin stopped breathing the moment Zhoumi's lips was pressed against his own. Zhoumi pulled back a bit. "Breath, Juliet. I don't want you to die from the lack of oxygen."
Hearing Juliet's name snapped Sungmin's back to reality and he was breathing again. "You're not kissing Juliet. You're kissing Sungmin." He replied with a frown and tried to get away from Zhoumi's grip on his arm. "Aren't you too much caught up in the play? You're even starting to think that you're Romeo and that I'm Juliet."
"That was Romeo kissing Juliet. This time it's Zhoumi kissing Sungmin." Zhoumi wrapped his arms around Sungmin's waist and pulled him closer. Sungmin gasped in surprise but his gasp was cut off as Zhoumi kissed him. The kiss lasted much longer than the first as Zhoumi explored and tasted every inch in Sungmin's mouth leaving Sungmin breathless afterwards.
"I love you, Sungmin and this is Zhoumi speaking, not Romeo."
Sungmin chuckled and replied with "I love you too, Zhoumi, way more than Juliet loves Romeo."
