Eunhyuk walked inside and gave some quick bows to other workers as they left to make room for the next show. Leeteuk was already sitting down, ready for the two, long hours of Kiss The Radio that awaited them. Recently, Eunhyuk had started dreading those two hours. He had somewhat gotten tired of the routine of talking to guests and doing skits and pretending like he actually gave a shit when all he wanted was to go to sleep.
But tonight was different. Yes, tonight was very different from all those other nights. Tonight Epik High was the guest, and Eunhyuk knew what that meant—he would see Tablo.
Eunhyuk practically bounced into his seat and Leeteuk didn't need to be a rocket scientist to know why. "So, you excited?" the older one asked him.
Eunhyuk looked to his left to find his leader grinning at him and realized how obvious he was being with his excitement. He cleared his throat and shrugged. "Yeah, I guess."
Leeteuk let out a laugh as one of the studio workers handed them their scripts. "It's been a while since Epik High was last on the show, huh?"
"Yeah," replied Eunhyuk with a smile on his face. "It's been a while." He remembered the last time Epik High came on their radio show. They were talking about Epik High's fourth album which had just recently come out. And, of course, Eunhyuk being the nerd he was had pre-ordered a copy way ahead of time and had already memorized most of the raps from the songs.
"They'll be coming during the first set of commercials," one of the studio workers announced from the doorway. Leeteuk and Eunhyuk nodded and started skimming over their lines.
It must've been the longest Eunhyuk had ever waited for anything in his life. During the opening for the show and up until their appearance, Eunhyuk kept glancing at the clock only to discover that mere seconds had passed since he last checked it.
When Epik High finally arrived, him and Leeteuk bowed to their hyungs as they sat down. Eunhyuk's heart was so far caught up in his throat that he couldn't speak, so he just stuck to politely bowing over and over again before sitting back down.
Unfortunately for him, Epik High had came in right when the commercials started playing so there was still about 3-5 minutes left of free time before they had to get back to the show.
"Eunhyuk was excited when he heard you guys would be on the show," Leeteuk said with a smile on his face, all too knowing of the glare that Eunhyuk was sending him without even having to look in his direction.
"Really?" Mithra asked. "He doesn't look too excited..."
"I AM EXCITED!" Eunhyuk yelled, without meaning to, in Mithra's direction and then proceeding to cup his hands over his mouth after realizing how loud his voice was.
Everybody cracked up at this, Eunhyuk resting his head on the desk out of humiliation and muttering, "All of you suck."
"OK, we're going to switch up the seat arrangements this time," Leeteuk said and clapped his hands together. "Mithra, you stay where you are. Tablo and Tukutz, you two switch seats." The two men did as they were told, Tukutz quickly messing up the wires at his spot so that they were all tangled together.
Eunhyuk looked up at Leeteuk with a 'What the fuck, are you trying to kill me?!' expression on his face, the older boy just casting a huge grin in reply.
Tablo pulled up the seat next to Eunhyuk and started untangling the headphones that Tukutz left him. That fucking bastard... was what he thought when he saw the apparent smirk on Tukutz face as the man sat down in Tablo's old seat. "So," he said looking over at Eunhyuk. "You were excited to see us, eh?" He was grinning, but this grin didn't annoy him at all, not like the annoyance he got when Leeteuk grinned.
Eunhyuk knew that Tablo liked to tease him. Actually, everyone liked to tease him, partially because it was so easy to do, but also because Eunhyuk was always good-natured and would just laugh it off.
The younger boy shook his head. "I wasn't excited at all..." he replied without looking at him and pretended to busy himself with his script.
"But didn't you just say you were excited a moment ago to Mithra?"
"Well, I was excited for Mithra to come. Not so much Tukutz or..." Eunhyuk let out a small laugh when he saw the look on Tablo's face. He had to admit it was fun teasing Tablo, too.
"Hey!" Tablo pushed him lightly on the shoulder. "What the hell is that about?"
Eunhyuk continued laughing, but almost jumped out of his seat when he saw that Leeteuk was listening intently on their conversation.
"Stop eavesdropping, bastard," Eunhyuk said to him, his laughter completely gone.
Leeteuk pushed him in the same way that Tablo had done just a moment ago. "Oh, stop playing. You're making me blush!"
Eunhyuk rolled his eyes, holding back a gag, and looked back to Tablo who had finally untangled his headphones and rested them around his neck.***
The show had gone off without a hitch, save for the couple times that Eunhyuk had lost all concentration on his script and instead concentrated on the way Tablo's lips moved when he talked. But Leeteuk was there to the rescue and took over the job of handling the questions so that the show could continue.
Now it was time for the portion of the show where Leeteuk and Eunhyuk took pictures with the guests. They all formed a line, Eunhyuk reluctantly situating himself next to Tablo on Leeteuk's command.
Tablo put his hand on Eunhyuk's back, but quickly jerked it away when he felt the younger boy stiffen at his touch. "Oh, sorry..."
Eunhyuk inwardly cursed himself. "No, I was just startled," he laughed and smiled at his hyung. Eunhyuk, shyly, draped his arm around Tablo and leaned closer to him, making sure to leave the necessary 4-inch gap between their bodies so their sides wouldn't touch one another.
"Hey, can you guys get closer?" the photographer asked from behind the camera. Eunhyuk cursed silently.
All the boys shifted their positions slightly and came in closer together. Eunhyuk barely moved any closer to Tablo for fear of their bodies touching any more than they already were.
"Eunhyuk, get in closer," the photographer ordered him. Eunhyuk almost glared at him. Why don't you move back two fucking feet so you would have a bigger shot?
But before Eunhyuk could open his mouth to protest, he felt a hand around his waist pulling him closer—a hand that belonged to none other than Tablo. Eunhyuk looked at him, Tablo smiling as if it was nothing (and it really was nothing) and looking back at the camera. Their bodies were touching more now, which was exactly what Eunhyuk was afraid of because he could barely control himself just sitting 3 feet away from the guy. And Tablo's hand on his waist was not at all helping him keep his composure.
He wasn't sure how much time passed between the clicks of the camera, but it was certainly enough time for him to feel Tablo's hips against his and for Eunhyuk to smell the scent of Tablo's cologne, almost getting drunk off it in the process.
"Alright, thanks guys!" the photographer said before waving a hand and walking out of the recording room.
And in a split-second Tablo's hand left his waist and the warmth of his body next to his also left. Eunhyuk was glad, although he could admit (if he got drunk one day) that he wished that feeling would last just a bit longer... like a few hours or something.
Leeteuk was grinning at him.
"Shut up."
"But I didn't say anything!" Leeteuk replied innocently, the grin still plastered on his face. God, how Eunhyuk hated that cheesy smile with all of his being.
"Alright, we're going now! Thanks for having us on the show," Tukutz said and waved at them, Mithra and Tablo still grabbing their things from their chairs.
The two boys bowed to their hyungs as Mithra and Tukutz smiled and left the room.
"See you later," Tablo said to them as he followed the other two out. "Oh, crap." He paused at the doorway and walked back to them. "I almost forgot..." he reached into his bag and pulled out a CD case. "This is for you."
"Huh? What for?" Eunhyuk's eyes were wide in surprise as he took the CD case and turned it over and over in his hands, much like a little kid would do with a Christmas present before opening it.
"What do you mean, 'What for?' Your birthday's in a couple days isn't it?" Tablo looked at him as if he was crazy.
"I didn't know you knew when my birthday was..." he said as he felt a blush slowly creeping on his face.
"Well, I didn't... not until Leeteuk told me a few days ago," he confessed and scratched his head. "But this is for you, so happy birthday."
Eunhyuk looked at him and pulled him into a hug before his brain could even think of something less gay to do. "Thank you! I love it!"
Tablo laughed from under him. "It's just a CD..."
Leeteuk coughed from behind them, and Eunhyuk quickly let go when he realized what he was doing and cleared his throat. "Well, thanks. It means a lot." He smiled widely at Tablo.
"Hey, I thought we were leaving," Mithra said from the doorway.
"Oh, sorry," Tablo glanced back at his band mate. "Well, call me up if you want to do anything for your birthday," he smiled and waved before heading out the door with Mithra.
When they had gone, Leeteuk poked Eunhyuk in the side. "He said 'Call me', didn't he? I'm pretty sure that's what I heard."
Eunhyuk ignored the fact that Leeteuk had teased him more times today than he should have. After all, if it wasn't for Leeteuk, Tablo wouldn't have known it was his birthday. "Thanks, hyung," he said, his eyes still glued on the item in his hands.
"Any time," Leeteuk gave him a smile. "Now, Eunhyuk... it's just the two of us again, so I can't take over your lines if you end up having gross thoughts about Tablo while we're on air."
"Oh, shut up!" Eunhyuk pushed him before he walked over to his bag and put the present he had just gotten safely inside.TBC...
