Alyss Granger: First Year

The Train

CHAPTER 3

I walked nervously up to my sister. It was 10:45. It gave me fifteen mutes to get onto the train and find Teddy.

I felt my wand slip a bit in my shirt pocket. It was 11 inches precisely. Vinewood and Unicorn hair. The unicorn gave the hair for Ron's wand, the one that wasn’t snapped, and the Vinewood from my sister’s it was only a fourth an inch longer than my sister's.

"Hermione?"

"Yes. What you have to do is walk straight at the boundary between platforms nine and ten. Run."

“But I’m going to crash into the wall.” I said confused.

“No you aren’t. It’s magic.” She said. Not mentioning Harry and Ron’s crash.

So I ran people were jostling me but I ran right through.

Once I was through I sighed and went right up to Teddy and his Grandmother.

Today, Teddy's hair was a nice brown and he had a small tan. His eyes were brown. He said it was too hard to stick with one thing if you're a metamorphmagus. But this was the way he looked normally. Well, he was supposed to be a dirty blonde but he didn’t like that look so he went brown.

"Hi Teddy. Hi Grandmother ‘Dromeada." I said. She wasn't really Grandmother but we all called her that. She looked very much like Bellatrix. Her sister. But much kinder.

"Hey, Alyss, fancy finding a compartment?" He asked.

"Let’s go." I grinned at him and we climbed on.

"Finally." I said. "An empty one."

We hauled or luggage in and collapsed. Grinning widely.

"Hello?" Said a girl with a boy next to her. "Can we sit here?"

"Sure." Teddy answered. They sat down the girl next to me and the boy next to Teddy.

"I’m Eliza Tagger. And this is Tom Patil." The girl asked she had soft blonde hair and brown eyes. She was pale though. I sarcastically wondered if she knew the words sun bathing.

"Is Padma and Pavarti related to you?" I asked.

"We're cousins." He answered he had really normal looking brown hair. It was short but it looked really good. His eyes were green. Not bright green, like Harry’s. He looked pretty relaxed for a first year. But it did seem like he didn’t like answering family questions.

"Oh well I'm Alyss Granger-"

"Is Hermione Weasley a relative?!" Tom asked. And he didn’t like answering questions. Hypocrite.

"Sister." I said quickly. I knew all about the war by now.

"And I'm Teddy Lupin." Teddy said quickly getting it over with.

"As in Tonks Lupin and Remus Lupin?!" Tom asked. Clearly Eliza was 

Muggle-born as she wasn't gaping at him.

"Yes." Teddy said shortly.

"Brilliant. You two are famous." Tom said. Looking at us.

"Yeah. But just because if our relatives. Teddy and I aren't special. Well, er, excluding that." I said as Teddy looked pained and pop his hair was red. "Red isn't your normal hair color Teddy."

"Really? I never knew!" He said looking astounded and changing it back. “I always thought I looked a bit peaky with that color. Too bad the Weasleys have to live with it.”

"What did you just do?" Eliza said in wonder.

"I’m a Metamorphmagus." Teddy said.

"Which house do you want to be in?" I said knowing Teddy didn't want the attention. He shot me a very thankful glance. "Teddy and I want to be in-"

"Gryffindor." He finished.

"I think Ravenclaw or Gryffindor." Tom said.

"Houses?" Eliza asked.

So we explained. The trolley came and we bought one of everything to share with Eliza. After Teddy, Tom and I had a small argument about who would pay we each paid a galleon.

"Then I want Gryffindor or Hufflepuff." She decided. The train seemed to be slowing down. "I think we might be at Hogwarts."

"Great!" Teddy shouted jumping up. I laughed. He is so funny sometimes. "It was so bloody-"

"Teddy!" I said. His grandmother had told me to make sure he didn't swear. But knowing Teddy he would anyways and nothing his grandmother or I could do would stop it and Teddy was quite content with that as long as she didn’t take the old broom away.

"Boring in here!" Teddy finished.

Once we got to Hagrid Teddy and I shouted, "Hi Hagrid!" It was so funny, he jumped. I couldn’t believe that a man as big as him could get scared that easily but he was Hagrid after all.

"Oh Hi Alyss an' Teddy. Jus' hurry on ter yer boats." He said waving us and hitting Teddy by accident sending him flying a few feet. Luckily, Tom and I caught him. I then realized how cute Tom looked.

I was starting to get a bit nervous and when we finally got to the castle it couldn't have been more welcome.

We all got pushed into a small room across from the Great Hall and Professor Longbottom told us to wait. After Teddy and I scared him. "Hi Professor Longbottom!" Really, both of them scare easy don’t they?
